Jennyclay:If women want equal judgement then let them start by asking the army to send equal number of male and female soldiers to fight bandits and Bokoharam. No be only where it's favorable unah dey find equal treatment. Moreover if a public dick gets a woman pregnant, it's the woman that will carry the pregnancy, it's the woman that will not able to handle her duties, it's the woman that will ask for maternity leave etc. Shooting a child into a woman doesn't stop/affect a male police officers performance at work. 11 Likes |

Discipline is the bedrock of the police force so as a woman police, you know that having child out of wedlock is indiscipline. So the law is right. |

That's in order. A pregnant officer can't perform her police duties effectively. Maternity leave can only be granted if she is legally married. |

The court did not address the question of whether the rule is constitutional Any Employer can make any rule that does no make it lawful or constitutional. I guess that is a matter for the higher courts I expect interested women to join future appeals Would such a rule be acceptable for Judges? Senators? 2 Likes |

Jennyclay: Please let's be rational. How effective do you a pregnant police woman would be at her job. And that's why the law provide maternity leave for that period of time for people that are married.and at least the force is already expecting it cause they know the lady is married. In a case where she is not married does she get a maternity leave or does she continue her duty as an unproductive police officer. What you are asking for is just as funny as a man asking for paternity leave. I don write enough abeg 3 Likes |

Another example of why Buhari is not Nigeria's biggest problem! The education and societal systems started failing long before now, you can see the evidence from every sector, whether it is your neighbors, the market traders, high judge, politician, doctors etc.; failure everywhere! Just look at the morons on this forum, they couldn't even see beyond the pregnancy and realize it is a major issue of having unfair and discriminatory rules. No employer has the right to make such ridiculous law, one could understand if they said pregnancy in itself is cause for termination but to have one set of rules for someone married and another for single folks is pure retardation! One could argue that a preganant person cannot fulfill police or force duties but that's why we have maternity leave; now unless we are saying maternity leave does not apply to single folks, I failed to see the problem here! Finally those justifying that there's a difference between a woman getting pregnant and a man impregnating a woman are clowns on another level. If every man was held accountable like overseas where child support is costly and effective then you nonentities would understand that men contribute just as much to the decay of society as the females. 3 Likes 2 Shares |

Must a Lady get married in order 2get pregnant? What about Officers who decide to settle for IVF? Will they be punished too? The Brain is designed to guide us so as not to make its carrier look like an Idiot. To whom Brain is given, at least common sense is expected in return. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Jennyclay: Many jurisdictions of the world do not make exceptions, and there are others who say you must have a policy cover. But here, the police have said no maternity leave/and pay for unmarried women. It is no one's fault if they failed to read it before applying. You want equality in judgement, how about equality in exposure to the dangers associated with policing? It is the men who go out to face thieves in shoot-outs. It is the men who get drafted to go on dangerous missions. We will like to hear you women advocate for equality in posting. Women should be posted to guard banks as well. Women should be on bullion vans as well, and on patrol in the midnight. 6 Likes |
