If you're already making money with ur Diploma, try not to go into any full time program again. Except for the "paper" degree there is "no much" you'll learn from there. I would suggest you try a part time program on it or any alternative to it with a part time just to get higher degree. The best shud even be a university degree. You can check if National Open University (NOUN) has ur program. If dey do, apply and follow through.

As for coding go for it and find a way to link it with Architecture. YouTube and many other coding site can help.

Good evening dear all, I am a guy around 30years, learnt draftsmanship and then went ahead to obtain a Diploma in Architectural technology.

Forget the HND and go for the coding BootCamp. I wish I ditched my HND and started coding earlier. That certificate has been practically useless to me.

Both
Re: What Should I Go For, HND In Architecture Or 4 Month Intensive Coding/programmin by JoyousFurnitire(m): 3:35pm On Mar 25, 2022
You know you can't do both.

Those who don't know anything about Archi. or Programming will say do both. Impossible.

Do you want to change career? If yes, then take the bootcamp.

Else, do the HND and leave the bootcamp. And also improve in your urban/city/estate programming skills with 3d rendering softwares like lumion and co.

Simple.

I have been practicing for years now and I must say I'm good at what I do,at least I make money from the drawings, building executions and supervisions. I have read countless times how lucrative and the prospect coding and programming comes with in this age.
The question is, I have obtained the HND form of Federal polytechnic Ado but there's this program I registered for online and I have been selected out many appliccants to be part of the 50 persons that would be trained for 4 months for 7 days a week,(Monday to Wednesday virtual classes and Thursday to Sunday physical classes)
note: this comes with stipends but the bone of contention is once given admission for HND it would be upheaval to run such a program with my academics because Architecture itself comes with lots of commitments.
Extra.. During my ND days, I couldn't keep a girlfriend because Architecture no be your mate, outta about 120 of us, we had just 6 females and many didn't graduate with us because of their complacency.
Please i could make use of advices.

Follow your passion

As a practicing Architect with an MSc ... you better respect yourself and learn the coding. If you could be so kind please share information on how you got the Boot Camp opportunity.

It is just 4 months, so go for the coding program then later go for the HND
Or
You can run both programs

Don't lose sight of your self development

You better go for HND certificate because govt training is just a peripheral aspect of the learning, they will not teach you intoto, for example during (saId) i.e skills acquisition and entrepreneurial development training in my nysc day I apply for phones repair, what they tech is was just introduction, I have to enroll my self in one technician shop to learn more and learn finish.

boss man. Well like me beat around the bush with you, via architecture is like being devoted to a secret cult, it a time burner profession. And you can't save two gods the same time.

OP: You seem good in architecture, stay there. Don't wander into coding as someone without focus.

Defer your admission and go for the programming. If it's not what you can continue with which is not possible, then you have your admission waiting for you.

Since you are already good at architecture, I will advise you go for the coding bootcamp(that is if you have the passion for it, cos coding no be your mate just like architecture be too), else..... pursue your HND course.

HND in Architecture ? Sincerely,I haven't heard of that before now ! That's nice though. Op,you can achieve both if you set your mind to it with rugged determination.

Firstly let me congratulate you for been selected to participate in the coding programme. Have it in mind that architecture is a good and professional course, that you
can still fetch back to. So i will advise you to go for coding, not because its the better but to widing your wealth of knowledge. And also coding program come with little duration, if after the training it worthy of being pursue, best of luck. If not obtain your HND in the next admission face and continue with architecture. Either coding is succefull or not, the knowledge and the insigth of coding/IT can not be taken from you abd it will be an added advantage for you

Re: What Should I Go For, HND In Architecture Or 4 Month Intensive Coding/programmin by manga5: 4:54pm On Mar 25, 2022
Everyone has advised correctly based on their experiences. I will only add my token. 4 months of extensive coding will not make you a good programmer. It will take a long time to grasp (this means repeated study and practice). As much as the boot camp is good, you will not get the result you are hoping for. What the boot camp will do is to get you started. My suggestion is apply for your HND Achitecture, if you are successful, go for it and secure a base in that, while you are at it, you can learn programming. Google, YouTube, Edex have free courses that can get you up and running.
I used to be a Civil Engineer back in the days but I work as a software Engineer. At the End of the day, just ensure you love programming else you will regret not going for architecture when the initial learning frustration starts.
I wish you all the best

Those people telling him to do both do not understand what architecture is. My friend, you can never combine architecture with any other thing. Even as a Bsc student, you cannot even combine architecture with social life and not feel the brunt, let alone combining Architecture with another course.
My guy. Go for the coding. You may never get the opportunity to learn the coding again, but you can still go for your HND after you conclude the programming course.

..never. Architecture students design every minute of their school life. As a student then, there were times we would go 2 days without bathing, cooking etc. Going out is completely out of it. girlfriends? Whose time will you sacrifice.
You can count how many days in a session you get up to 5 hours sleep at a stretch.
During the last one month before defence, our beds will hang on one side of the wall because we can't afford to sleep. You only sleep when your head starts aching and yet you can't sleep more than 3 hours in 24 hours.
You sit and draw from morning till night and from night, you still sit on your drawing table watching the day break.
Funny thing, you will never still meet up with the deadline before defence. You will just do as much as you can.
Only those who had Architecture students as friends, lodgemates or roommates can relate.
