I'm watching metro tv ghana now. And they are having their sport discussion where they are talking about the eagles. They saiyng; we were overconfident and complacent before the match but Prior to game we were intimidated by the fans at the stadium. Moses Simon was nowhere to be found and that he switched wings early on with chukwueze but still there was no result.

They also spoke about the nature of our arrival at kotoka airport. That we had sent our protocol team to warn everyone not to take picture of our players as they arrived.

And that when we got to the stadium in Kumasi, we asked the security to send out everybody including the media team and GFA members. After that we asked that the security in the stadium excuse us from the stadium as well.

One of the anchor got pissed and said they the Ghanaian contingent couldn't even try all these when they get to Nigeria. And that it is because they Ghanaian are too nice on foreigners.

My question is how have our midfielders and attackers fared compared to our goalkeepers?

Are you saying Egypt and Senegal got to the finals without scoring goals?

My point is we struggle to score goals and we must fix that problem.

andrewbaba44:

Maybe you think super eagles is Barcelona or the Spanish national team that can do without a good GK at least because they know how to keep the ball with them ,even GK have cost Barca severally this season self

Maybe if Ghana have scored from those shots you will tell me that our problem is not GK

Without good GKs Senegal and Egypt will be no where near the afcon finals

We didn’t score against Ghana suddenly we now struggle to score goals ? Lol

Egypt got to the final without almost winning game self ,dragging games to pk ,go and check and see for yourself ,the only game Egypt won comfortably as against Morocco

Funny man

Training session, na EA handle as as usual, and they said the boys are bored at his lectures of 15-20mins. I hope he's not talking of how his 94 set cut passes and scored goals? Anyways, they are bored of such talks.

They are not there to have fun. The boys should focus on the match at hand and not gossiping with media.

When the accused starts to play the victim card
But they saw the training, I even learnt about our line up after the training from a Ghanaian on BrilaFM who claimed he saw the training and how the players lined up; it wasn't different from the starting XI

They are crazy in that country

They are nice to foreigners is why they could not find a decent ramp for our team? They are nice to foreigners is why they used kolanut table for Press conference for us? They are nice to foreigners that is why they could not even present a proper flag for Nigeria in that game? Or since when did we start using a horizontal Green White Green flag?

They are collectively mad and useless in that Tv station for saying such rubbish. They should be ashamed that all their intimidation tactics could not give them a goal against us.

He should be talking about that, so that they understand the importance of even showing up at a World Cup

He has been there and done that. So many of them on that team cannot say same and he is reminding them what is at stake, E be like to qualify no dey do them again.

They should go back and rewatch that Haram football they subjected over 20 million people to on Friday, so they can see what boredom really looks like.

Like someone rightly said, the World Cup is a boost for their careers, not for anyone else individually

If they miss out on it, they've f*cked themselves over.

You need to stop this bullshit man. I am quite disappointed that with all your noise for here on football, it doesn't occur to you that the careers of African-born goalkeepers is usually crooked no matter how good they are. Besides Okoye was languishing in the fourth division once upon a time, he got a call-up, then straight to the Netherlands. Besides, there's a lot you don't seem to get for someone who seems to be well-invested in this sport called football. Your form at the club level is only good enough to get you in. As one of our people here suggested If you mess up any player with a similar role whose overall contribution and commitment is better should take your place, even if na Enyimba him dey play. Besides, it's not just one game. Maduka has never ever been convincing for Nigeria. He's seldom tested, so it's difficult to notice that he's a basket. On a normal day, any good test is a goal. He's been nothing more than a ball boy for the super eagles. grin. If you know your football a simple eye test can tell you that the guy no just balance for the super eagles. Perhaps this also means that na baskets full Netherlands, so adding another basket into the mix doesn't change the dynamics. cheesy
I do not understand how anybody who knows his football thinks comparing the careers of outfield players to goalkeepers is any enlightening.
komekn:

You can drop as many contrived stats as you like.

One game doesn't define a player.

If Uzoho was so good he would not be in the backwaters of Europe going nowhere.

On the other hand Okoye is on an upward trajectory.

You cannot exclude cup football and league for player assesment. The only reason Victor O is in the SE is his club and league form. His first game in the SE at AFCON 2019 was absolutely woeful.

But he is essentially the first choice striker even pushing out the top scorer in the AFCON 2019 Ighalo.

You are putting forward a double standard.

It wasn't even gossip. It was one of the so-called journalists that entered the stadium that tweeted it.
Why are random journalists allowed in the stadium FGS? Shouldn't our training sessions be behind closed doors? The journalists were so comfortable that they were even strolling on the pitch. I am 100% sure a Ghanaian spy would be reporting all our sessions & tactics to otto addo and GFA. A presidential candidate even came to the stadium to use footage with SE players for campaign. I am not impressed at all.

That is why Dennis is our best winger, closely followed by Lookman. They can dribble, but they don't dribble for dribbling sakes. The dribble when necessary to get into advanced positions, but they are so much more direct.

Not possible. You can't bench Osimhen and a 4-4-2 with Ighalo is even worse than with Iheanacho because at least Iheanacho can shoot from afar, drop deep, link up and give delicious through passes like the one to Simon on Friday. Ighalo is a poacher.

Xavi uses "wing play" at barca and it's working wonders for him. I don't think it's outdated, every tactics works fine if the coaches knows what they are doing.
As it stands now i don't think the current coaches in the super eagles are what we need now and also at the world cup.
