You can do your upfront medical anytime before you submit your application. The timing is up to you. Just be aware that medicals are valid for one year and that one year starts counting from the time you did it.

Good evening,

Congrats @Yankdreamer
I thought Upfront Medical means you did it before you submitted your medicals.
Could you please clarify why it has a later date than your application date.

Good evening everyone, please I am still waiting on God and IRCC for my PPR. My school resumes on the 11th of May but I believe PPR go drop before then. Is it true that if I am not vaccinated I won't be allow to travel? What if I go for the first shot, will that count?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 21 by CentennialGuy: 11:00pm On Apr 02, 2022
If he did his medical at IOM Lagos, it's possible that he didn't get vaccinated then. IOM Lagos didn't have the vaccine when I did my medicals there. But of course you are right that if you are not vaccinated, you are not leaving this country. Me I have kuku collected first dose at a Primary health care since then. Going for second dose this Friday.

Nothing go pour sand sand for this my Canada garri.

Creativeowos:

Smile. Am not understanding o, how come you were able to do medicals without being vaccinated because i remember they do ask and those who aren't vaccinated would be vaccinated immediately . If you're not vaccinated then you are not leaving this country, even at the airport you would be asked if not you won't be allowed to travel. You dey fear vaccine ni

Upfront medical means you did it before IRCC sent you a request to go for medical. That could be before you submitted your application or after you have submitted your application but you are not willing to wait till you get a medical request from IRCC.

You still have more than enough time to get the two doses in before May. Go and get the first dose this week. It's seamless and doesn't take time at this primary health centers especially if you registered online before going. Don't use your own hand pour sand sand for your garri so that it won't be lack of vaccination that will make you not be able to travel in May when your PPR finally drops.

And you will also be saving money and stress of having to go for a pre-departure PCR test.

Good day house!
Kudos and may God bless everyone that has contributed towards the various successful PPR stories being shared here.
I was recently directed to the page by a friend who just relocated to Canada.

Please permit me to ask a few questions.
Am a married woman and graduated 10 years ago with Bsc science and computer education (biology major, with 2.2). I’ve been working in 1 of my husband companies (clearing agency) while taking care of the kids.
I wish to apply for January 23 admission
Please Gurus in the house…… What course is best suitable 4 me ( with ease of getting visa as well)
Should I go 4 a management course? With an intent of producing letters from the company.

I would also appreciate if the schools as well as d courses can be recommended to me here as well.

Thank you and God bless

Hello, I am my wife's sponsor and I will be transferring about 4M naira to her account, she hasn't been working so not much has been going to her account apart from what I send her. My question is, do I need any document to show that I sent her the money and what it is for? I'm seeing a gift deed, is that what it's for and how do I obtain a gift deed document. Thank you for your help.

Anon123:

Money must be in your account even if its your twin thats sponsoring you. The VO's eyes, u can not be in canada and expect money to pay your bills and others to be in another persons account in Nigeria. One of the many reasons apps are denied based on finance.

The standard processing time according to their site is 12 weeks. After that you can start with sending emails to IRCC Nairobi, then proceed to raise a web form and then contact an MP in the jurisdiction of your school to make inquiries finally order your gcm notes.
But you must wait after 12 weeks

Thank you for your response. Hopefully it comes out before then and I won’t need to do all these. Amen ooo.

Hi Atigba, the 1 yr PGWP allows you to work and stay in Canada for 1 year. In that period you are to find a job or do what is required to obtain PR if that’s your desire. Different PR pathways and different requirement in different provinces. Some dont even need a job offer or work period.

The challenge is get that PR within 1 yr that you are allowed to live legally in Canada. Hence to avoid the risk, some people opt to get a 2nd study program after their 1st year study.
Its called a 1+1
1+1 =2 years of study
2 years of study = 3 years PGWP. Thats 3 extra years to get that blessed PR.

All the best.

is it true that if you exist canada(visit Nigeria) during your study or during your PGWP you would be given PR or you wouldn't be eligible for PR?

Hello everyone,
how long does it take IOM to send medical results to IRCC? Upfront medical was done before the application was submitted. Up till now, medical has not been updated and a series of emails have been sent to the IOM email address to inquire if the medical result has been sent but no response up till now.

Wahala ooooo...Thank you for your response sha ...the thing is I have always had a flare for nursing..I actually applied for nursing then but was given geology...so when this opportunity came, I thought to apply for nursing again since it is not related to geology cus I can’t get a Pgd cert in nursing with a bsc In geology and it is a way for me to fulfill my dream. Although I have proof that I actually applied for nursing but was given geology...won’t that proof be able to convince the VO that nursing as always been my dream ? Also...is it possible for me not to mention my degree in geology during my visa application...I finished secondary sch 2014
You welcome

Good morning,

I saw 0000.00301880 for NGN today. Is this supposed to mean N301/1CAD?

Meanwhile Google shows N331.59 / 1CAD...

Please confirm.

Afolavid:

There's no specific amount, it depends on your school's tuition fee, $10000 living expenses per year, etc all those will give you the actual cost

As at today, the rate is 332/$CAD but it changes every now and then. Here is the official ircc exchange rate site to keep track of it - https://www.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca/cgi-bin/recgen/er.pl?Language=E

Congrats PrinceAdeAde
Did you have the minimum POF before submitting the statement?

I am trying to confirm if my statement must capture the gradual build up of my account. OR can I submit my statement with the full POF already in the account along with pay slips showing that I could have comfortably saved up that POF?
