Tinubu did what he did because that is the only choice that brings him the votes in the North. Muslims are minority in the South and you still expect him to pick a Christian from the North where the Christians are minority too? Who does that? Christian -christian can't never be possible in Nigeria due to the fact that Northerners Muslims has largest votes than Christians and that give them dominance advantage. Christians are minority in the North and they can't be picked either as VP or President. This scenero happened in most of the state as well where minority could not become governor of their state no matter how brilliant the person may be. If we should start electing president base on religion line as far as this country is concerned no Christian would be a president in this country because of the population of Muslims and voting pattern. No. A Muslim from the south is a minority and the christian from the north is also a minority.
Two minority groups cannot win an election. A Muslim south will always choose a Muslim north. For a Christian northerner to be president he must choose a southern Christian from the south east or south south. If he chooses a Yoruba Muslim, he will lose.

Pdp also played the same game. They knew choosing an igbo man to face APC will result in failure so they chose another Fulani Muslim from the north even when another Fulani Muslim northern is rounding up his 8 years in office.
