Sad. Hopefully they have insurance. Don't venture into any business in Nigeria without thinking of insurance. I can't even drive my car without comprehensive insurance. Life here is hard try as much as possible to protect what you have. There's no safety net in Nigeria. My friend had an accident with my car luckily I had comprehensive insurance. I spent 300K to fix the car. The insurance company paid me 245K while the premium I paid was 105K for one year coverage. It's part of financial intelligence we must imbibe to help us grow economically. If you have a family as a man take life assurance policy. If anything happens to you your family doesn't have to depend on the benevolence of your family members or your friends to pay school fees and other bills. Take charge of your finances. 7 Likes 1 Share |

budaatum: Nothing is working in this country. A friend collected loan to expand his pig farm. He was mandated to insure by CBN. ASF enter his farm and all pig died. Till today insurance never get back after providing all what they ask for. It's a shame. All man for himself in this country 1 Like |

Johnrake69: Insurance is very paramount. Mum's car got into an accident on Toyin Street I think (Billboard fell on it during one of the rainy days), insurance paid 89% of the cost of the car. 2 Likes |

jmoore: Check the content of the insurance cover you got to see if flood is inclusive. But which car will cost 10m for insurance? Must be worth 100m-150m 1 Like 1 Share |

Sad one, see people's investment wasting away , I just hope they can manage the losses. This is why it's always advisable to go into businesses where you can manage losses the most, I learned this from the last season of the Next Titan Nigeria show, season 9 is here and promises to be better with a mouth watering 20 million naira for the winner. 2 Likes 1 Share

This flood issue is getting out of hand,my advice is that as an Entrepreneur you can just go and participate in the upcoming "THE TITIAN NIGERIA" Season 9.Cash prize is 20M naira and runner up gets 5M. Hopefully this farmer will bounce back, for more info on the show you can check @thenext_titan

jmoore: I am certain you did not post one instance as evidence that "Nigeria insurance na scam". There is absolutely no way you would think I am that dumb, jmoore, or I at least can't believe you do. All insurance is scam to those who don't read the small print. They and you signed an agreement, and it's your duty to ensure they uphold their end of the bargain if you upheld your end, same as you'd ensure market person does not scam you, except insurance is better than market since you signed a piece of paper. When you sue them to court please add the cost of suing to what you sue them for plus stress money plus plus. Though I feel you might now tell me court na scam too instead of admitting you too lazy to fight for your right. 1 Like |

budaatum:That is one aspect that is lacking in Nigeria, even when you insure the insurance companies will find one clause not to pay unlike in China where they insure nearly everything, many of their vehicles, houses were being damaged yearly natural disater the insurer redeemed them . 2 Likes 2 Shares |
