Of course generation is part of the problem. With a peak capacity of around 7k mw, and distribution capacity hovering around 4 - 5k mw, Nigeria surely needs a state of emergency in the power sector.

Environment might not be similar but if you are a student of management or economics, you should know what a comparative analysis is. It will take me a lot of stress to educate a dummy like you that currently Nigeria has capacity to generate 10000mw of electricity but we are generating less than 50percent because we don't have enough transmission capacity to distribute the remaining 50percent. This is why you hear of nation wide transmission failures occasionally because our transmission stations try to transmit more megawatts than they can carry to the national grid. The PDP government of which I was a member did a lot in the area of power generation and next stage was transmission which was what the Jonathan govt were going to focus on if he had won second term.
Unfortunately, he lost second term and APC government under buhari came in and rather than continue on the foot prints of the PDP govt, they started with trading blames and making false allegations, abandoning the various power stations which were started by pdp government and were nearing completion. By the time they realised their folly, they had done 7yrs before they understood that all they needed to do was build on pdp power roadmap and fine tune it. Instead they went about singing 16billion dollars missing power money which was nothing but false allegations. My story will still sound like french language to you because urchins like you in APC and Labor party lack ability to reason

Dummy, 10,000mw is enough to meet Nigeria's power needs currently but with strategic plans for future expansion as the population increases. South Africa is currently generating 35,000mw but most of these is actually sent to storage because they only make use of a little bit above 5000mw or less . I am not your mate in these matters, I have served in the Nigerian power sector as a member of pdp government at the national level between 2007 and 2011( house of reps) and 2013-2015 as a member of the presidential advisory council on the power sector in the Jonathan government
