Why then is my own 3.5KVA not supporting my 1.5HP regular AC and TV
This is like asking why a 20 litre bucket of oranges does not produce 20 litres of orange juice. 6.5HP is the power (mechanical) produced by the engine. The conversion of that mechanical (motion) power to eletrical power by the coils involve lots of power loss. Some are lost as noise, heat , etc. Even the whole energy from fuel (chemical) is not fully converted to mechanical energy is engines, there are losses. In airplanes for instance, the loss of energy from chemical ( fuel ) to mechanical energy is over 30%.

Thank you chief, for educational purposes, theoretically, how many horsepower does the gen produce (estimate?)

This your laughter ehn. You are wondering why it struggles to power a 1.5HP conventional ac right?

Exactly... Just the AC o, and a low voltage TV and one bulb.

My sumec firman won't start. The rope is stuck inside or something because it can't pull out.

I just checked the oil and it wss very low almost empty.

Please if I refill the oil will it be OK or has the engine knocked?

It is what it is. Same generator can power 1.5HP inverter AC. The power needed to start up many equipment with pumps and compressors is sometimes about 2.5 of the rated power. Your 1.5HP AC for instance may have a power consumption of 1100W and may require 2.5×1200=2750W for start up. If your generator is the Sumec Firman SPG3000 series then its not possible for the gen to survive this because that generator is 3.5KVA max( 2800W max).
Inverter ACs on the other hand don't require such huge amount of starting power and also don't run intermittently like conventional ACs.

Refill the oil first. For the stuck rope, remove the spark plug and try pullng without the spark. If it pulls, then it's possible some amount of oil or fuel found its way to your cylinder. If it's oil, then keep pulling without the spark on to get rid of it.

This has been an eye-opener... Thank you so much chief. One more question, Nepa doesn't really work with the AC too, the voltage is admittedly poor. The AC runs but the fan on the outdoor unit struggles to roll, when it does, it rolls slowly, so the AC output is subpar. Will a 5,0000 Watts Stab help?/

I bought and currently using a 10k watt stabilizer to power my home appliances..

It works well for me.. just that extra low currents can't carry the stabilizer..

Yeah, a 5000VA stab should do, though there are limits to how low the voltage will be to even power the stab just like seankafor said.

Did you connect your stab directly to light.

Is AVS a good alternative.

yes connected it directly to the main power unit of my apartment..

Looks nice but just that sometimes the click sounds it makes during power fluctuations is annoying you'd think it may spoil grin

Hell no, I didn't spend 125k on a 10k watts stabilizer to be worried about power fluctuations

Please chiefs in the house, which brand and capacity is the best for me that will comfortable carry fridge and pumping machine. I really want to get one this week as NEPA is currently fucking up in my street.
I look forward to your guide.

Thanks.

House please help o.

My luthian that's been working perfectly just refused to give light today after I switched it on!
Gave light for about 3 seconds and went out but the gen was still running!!!

A week ago,I mistakenly switched the gen on with my freezer connected to my 2000 stabilizer for about 7 minutes before I noticed it. Nothing happened and I quickly switched the stabilizer off.
The gen has been working fine till earlier today it didn't supply power.
I only use it for my TV, lights and deep base home theater system. At times also,I use it to power my 1000watts blender (I hope this ain't the culprit)
There's 5.5HP on the body
Please what do I do?
Gurus around please help. Gptech

Possible issues to check :
1. Loose or broken supply cable
2. Faulty or tripped overload switch
3. Damaged AVR
4. Damaged Coil.

Hello house, I'd like to know what this two terminals are used for in generator pls.

Modified: It happens that I've used the Gen for a while cos Nepa light has been stable not for me to try Oning the Gen few days ago and key starting didntn work cos the battery was totally down. So I had to draw it manually. So I told the technician that came to check it since he said the battery is down that we should charge it there but he just laughed and said he has never tried charging battery there before (I knew people do charge car battery there) but I asked him what the function of those terminals but he can't provide any answer.

Have you checked the AC plug if there's a loose connection?

AC plug! I don't even know what that is
I tried it earlier again,it worked as usual, switched on a light. Then itried switch on my standing fan and it went out immediately.
Any suggestions, please?

General Advantages Of Inverters, And Why You Should Choose Them Over Generators In Nigeria
Are energy-efficient. There is no wastage of power
Are the best for optimal home performance
Will run your device smoothly as if they are from your community transformer (or NEPA or PHCN as widely known)
Power up your home appliances and machines while maintaining their health and performance
Are compatible with all home appliances and heavy-duty machinery. They can power your fans, refrigerators and microwaves, equipment etc without any risk of damage or malfunction
Are designed for appliances with high power requirements like Audio and video equipment, industrial equipment and machines, satellite systems, bread makers, light dimmers etc

Annual Cost
When you compare the price and cost of maintenance, Nigerians can save up to 50% every year if they buy an inverter instead of a generator. Generators seem very cheap, but in the long run, they are costlier than inverters.

Maintenance
Inverters don’t need maintenance. But generators need maintenance from time to time.

Noise
Inverters are silent. Generators are just the opposite. Generators are loud. You can’t run generators at midnight without disturbing your neighbours.

Eco-friendly Reasons
Inverters are environmentally friendly. On the other hand, generators release chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) that deplete Ozone layers.

Automation And Convenience
Inverters change over automatically. Generally, all good inverters require 16.6 milliseconds to respond during a power outage.

On the other hand, generators need manual operation. And don’t forget that not all generators start immediately. You need strong muscular coordination, endurance and patience if you want to start a generator.

Protection And Comfortable Use At Home
Inverters can be used indoors. Generators cannot. You need to run them outside, and at a safe distance from where you stay.

This means you put your generator at risk because it can be stolen. This is not uncommon in Nigeria, especially if your house is not properly fenced.

You should also remember that generators can’t be used when it’s raining unless you shield them with water-proof materials. Also, generators cause fire accidents.

It’s not only economical but also safer to make use of inverters. As for the Inverter vs generator challenge, it’s a clear fact that Inverters are better for home use in Nigeria.
