Nigerias historical facts need to be checked and rechecked. There's been so many lies told and rehashed to people many of which are tales and fables and not real history.

For example,

The story of the tivs stopping the Fulani advance is merely a fable ,it never did occur, there was never a FULANI-TIV war.

The Fulani never made any real bid to wage war south, they instead settled with the tivs and enjoyed their fertile lands for their cattle.

Going by happenings today (Fulani herdsmen killings) which probably in future will be misrepresented as a FULANI-TIV war,the Fulani are the only side killing the tivs with impunity and the tivs have no resistance at all, this is what happened in the past, the Fulani taken losts of tiv land now like in the past.

The tivs have no defence, they are just simple farmers they do not know war.

The tivs are no warriors, all the tales and stories are purely fake.

They were told by the British in a bid to recruit the tivs as soldiers, the tivs were fed ego boosting stories to prompt them to be soldiers.

Nigerians historians has got a lot of work to do

Only very few tribes can stand the Fulani in war in Nigeria, very few

The tivs stopped your great grandfather da fodio.cut his head and played it like a fifa πŸ€πŸ€ ball.
Don't distort history because of current happenings.
It's true they being killed but with the backing of the current govt. And the killing is not peculiar to Tiv alone, ebony, delta and Edo are also feeling it mildly down south.

Don’t fall for it. He is no Fulani.

He’s just a frustrated ipob that has allowed Fulanis to live rent free in his head.

His aim to arouse anger and whip up anti-Fulani sentiments with this thread but we know better.

Stop saying rubbish. The only thing you can say that I'll believe is that the Tivs of today are different from their fathers because colonialism distorted their values. They now mostly waste their lives on burukutu drinks ...
You would never name warrior tribes in Nigeria without naming the Tivs. Without the Tivs, the Fulani jihad that decimated and subjugated the Hausa would have been more widespread. If they're not warriors, why did Tafawa Balewa send Nigerian army to quell the Tiv uprising and the army couldn't do it for weeks without massacring the populace? If they're not warriors, why did Nigeria depend mostly on them and the MB tribes to defeat Biafra.
Nevermind, I understand your Fulani policy of use and dump. You guys are eyeing their fertile land for your cattle and are now hopeful since you know that Ortom, the Tiv governor willing to lay down his life to defend his people will soon be out of power. You're probably hoping that one Fulani lackey would replace him so that the massive killing and intimidation would continue. God will thwart your plans through a Peter Obi victory. Take that to the bank.

Lol. It usually amazes me how DAFT people are to believe stvpid tales where confirmation is just a google away.
People will parrot nonsense not minding their level of education/exposure.

I'm refering to the crazy-stvpid tale that 'TIV killed Danfodio'. No surprise its mostly told by benue people even when there are several accounts/records by british explorers of how he lived a quite ripe life till 62.

I had a talk with an old fellow from that place sometime past and he mentioned that fable. I challenged him instantly that it was FALSE.
He would later recant his story that Danfodio was sent 'spiritual' arrow (jazz) that several years later will kill him in his manshun in sokoto lol

TIV are warriors but you guys must quit these tales & step up... It serves no use
