May God bless the hands of every Nairalander that felt renting a house for $150k is a waste of money.

For those that would still want to form strong head and say I'd rather build my house than rent a house for that amount, may God elevate you to the level where paying that amount will be like paying this 700k that you're currently paying as rent.

While you're paying 700 to 1m as rent, your gateman too is seeing you as someone who is wasting money. In his mind, if I get this money wey Oga dey use pay rent, I for Don build my house since.

Very wrong. N69,375,000. Even if you use the black market rate,it's still no where near a billion naira. Not even up to quarter of a billion naira (N112,500,000)

$150K is approximately N69M.

Why would anyone think of paying such amount as rent yearly?

I sell Luxury Homes at Ikoyi, Lekki and Banana Island and with that amount, you would buy yourself a nice 4 bedroom Duplex at Lekki.

What you should know is the price of a home is dependant on two things which are LOCATION and LEVEL OF DEVELOPMENT.

Banana Island is a high brow area. Same goes for Ikoyi. Homes in this location would not be compared to homes at Lekki.

The level of development in Banana Island and Ikoyi can not be compared to that of Lekki. There are some parts of Lekki you would go to and you will ask yourself if truly u are even in Lekki.

Ikoyi is one of the oldest high brow residential areas in Lagos hence the hike in prices of houses there. Same with Ikeja.

Instead of paying N69M ($150K) as yearly rent in Banana Island, is it not best to use that 69M and buy a fully furnished 4 Bedroom Duplex at Lekki.

Or

For those that don't like Lekki becos of the bad drinking water, You can even go down to the mainland and buy a 1 plot of land.

You build it to your taste and you won't even spend up to N50M in finishing. You would make it look exactly like the houses at Ikoyi.

Come to places like Ayobo, Ipaja here on the Mainland. Most wealthy men abroad come down here every year to buy lands in these areas.

A plot now at Ayobo is going for about N25-N30M. You would buy one plot and build it to your taste and you won't spend up to even N40M.

Change of N15M will even remain for you to start up a business for yourself at Iyana-Ipaja or near Deeper Life University at Ayobo and employ jobless youths in the area. You make more money for yourself.

Then you rest for life.

Sense will not kill me.
