11,350 Teachers Write Professional Exams As Lagos Leads by mrox4d(m): 6:21am On May 21, 2023
No fewer than 11,350 candidates participated in the first batch of the Teachers Registration Council (TRCN) Professional Qualifying Examination (PQE) across the country yesterday.

Registrar of TRCN, Prof Josiah Ajiboye, who disclosed this while monitoring the exercise at Sascon International School Maitama, Abuja, said reports from across the country showed that the exam went on smoothly.
Ajiboye, who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Education, Mr David Adejo, further disclosed that Lagos State had the highest registered candidates for the examination with over 1,500 entrants, followed by Kano State and the Federal Capital Territory.

The TRCN boss noted that Kebbi State had the lowest participants in the exercise, stating the exercise recorded tremendous improvement in terms of participation and accreditation process.

Some of those who sat for the exams, intend to get registered by the council and use it to facilitate their relocation abroad.

Normally, those schools paying below minimum wage for a skilled job like teaching don't employ standard teachers to start with, they majorly target O'level holders. They are always having vacancies cos nobody will stay there for long...

Also, a lot of those private schools barely make money so I don't blame them much since they're majorly in poor areas where Baba Mulika and Mama Chinedu want to send their kids to a private school for 30k per term.

Many are writing the exams to Japa to UK for teaching jobs because my cousin was one of those who sat for it in Lagos and she is not a Lagos indigene like majority of those who sat for the exam in Lagos.😂😂

30k?ordinary 10k and they will still beg for discount while paying the money 2k or 1500 installmentally. It is what is it.

I tried it before, after few days, I resigned my fate grin

I think many took the exams for Jakpa matter, UK, Australia, Canada, and many Asia countries need teachers like no tomorrow especially English speakers.

Those teachers in face to face private primary and secondary schools dey try ooh, imagine teaching like 4 subjects for only 30K in a month.

Tribalism is worst than racism, what Yorubas do to other tribes in Nigeria is worst than racism, I think my fellow Yoruba brothers especially Yoruba Muslims who are known to be too trïbalistic in nature don't have any moral right to talk about racism, I forgot to mention how they are forcing a dare devil Tinubu on good people of Nigerians
