What To Do To My Househelp? by lucabraski(f): 7:13pm On Sep 26, 2012
I bought a brand new laptop and brought it home. I came back from work and found most of the letters on the keyboard on top the table.

I couldn't understand what or how it happened. On questioning my 7yrs old daughter, she said the househelp used knife to uproot the letters on the keyboard, as according to her, the letters were not arranged alphabetically. In the process of her uprooting the keys, many of the sitting were broken.

The laptop cost me 160k, which I am yet to payoff.

I had to leave the house for some hours to calm my temper down before I know what to do.

I am yet to come up with a befitting punishment.

What care do u mean? She is yet to spend 2months in my house. Even at that, I have observed that she is very forward.

The story is very true.

wait a minute, is your househelp 190 or Okija juju.
Papa bomboi sells ivostick gum. It might do you some help. Remember to arrange them well before they 'll resemble bicycle seat.

chaircover: ^^^^^^^ she sounds way too young to me. Sounds like she should be enrolled in primary school rather than computer school
.

Yeah she seems young and very impulsive. If she's not young then she likely has some mental problems affecting her impulse control. Be careful with that one.

yep

it would take time to deliberately remove the keys , just proves she's a bit destructive not just young

Be careful and keep valuables out of sight, I know the help they render is useful but i have a feeling that girl will damage something more valuable

Caution her sternly but plan to replace her.
Re: What To Do To My Househelp? by lucabraski(f): 8:21pm On Sep 26, 2012
She is extremely destructive. God knows how much she has destroyed in the 2months she has spent with me.

I just feel like rearranging her face with slaps.

She is about 22yrs; or could she be possessed?

She's not possessed. She just has an undiagnosed psychiatric disorder(s). You should send her away as her behaviors are out of her control and she will continue if u don't get her treatment.

22 yrs? What da...... If I advise you to spank her,it will sound as if am giving you a bad advice.she never see laptop before? What will make her to remove the letters? Did she do it out of wickedness or its pure stewpidity? Probably your daughter must have warned her to stop doing it and she continued.160k lappy no be small money o! Well its up to you to decide what to do with her before she continues to destroy things in the house.

Warning her is not enough as she is not operating within the normal mental limits for someone that age. Hoping she will change without professional help is an exercise in futility.

Well if this story is true (I have my doubts) then let her work it off, assuming you pay her an income, let her work it off and when she is done she leaves. That is how it is done between employer- Employee, except you keep her there and "feed" her without a defined income.
Dont dare slap a 22 year old, keep it professional.
I always tell people if you want a good maid, define the job description, define the working hours, not dusk to dawn, Pay a fare wage and give benefits. They provide a service you cannot, they are not the scum of the earth.

Very difficult story to believe but if it is true, then it is just a reflection of the type of care you give your househelp. One of the reasons why you should educate and treat your house helps as part of the family. If she had been watching TV in the house with you, she would have surely seen a laptop by now. You wanted a naïve village girl, now you got her, enjoy the "full package"

Story is seriously unbelievable!

22 years old to scatter a laptop just so she wants to re-arrange the keyboard?

Have you asked the help for her own version of what happened?

what would you do if your daughter did the same? take it like a man, bro! if robbers came to your house, would you put up a resistance to stop them from taking your laptop? buy yourself 6 cold bottles of beer to 'destress' - you should feel better after 8 hrs.

It sounds like she grew up a bit away from civilization as not to be familiar with a computer. What she did to the laptop sounds a bit funny, it seems like she had good intention but did not know that what she was doing is destructive. It must hurt to buy something that expensive and have it manhandled like that, isn't there a way to make it better? I hope the computer can still work.

A 22 year old should be in school or a skill acquisition place organizing a career for herself and not be a maid in a married couple's home. If she needs to work as a maid to keep body and soul together while studying, living with a married couple is not the best arrangement. Poster I bet you and your family are kind enough to fit in a studying or skill-acquisition programme for her while she is working for you----by the time she is 6 months or one year into such programmes she should know that she doesn't need to rearrange the keys of computer keyboard to read in an alphabetical order. Do bear with her----forgive her. The things around your home should be defined for her so that she can know what she can play with and what she can't play with and in order for her not to go meddling with more dangerous stuffs like chemical solutions, medicines etc. She is going to be helping take care of the kids and needs to be guided well.
