lexy2014:Same way as obi was Igbos choice in 2023 and not apuga's phillip umeadi 2. What happened to Awolowo in 1963 and how does that relate to Abiola of 1993?Awolowo was Yorubas choice in d 60s to 80s but he didn't succeed 3. What did Awolowo not succeed at in 1963?same way as obi didn't succeed in 2023 4. If Yorubas didn't vote for Shonekan, who voted for him?Shonekan wasn't even a presidential candidate in d first instance. He was called upon by d milary junta to lead d interim govt. Nigga wasn't even a politician 5. Was it only Yorubas that voted for Abiola in 1993?Was it only Igbos dt voted obi, or was it only northerners that voted Atiku or was it only Yorubas dt voted Tinubu in 2023? 2 Likes |

Arapmoi22: You have responded and if aren't "one of the yahoo yahoo generation who doesn't read anything about history", how come you can't answer the simple questions? 1. What do you mean by "Yoruba choice"? Pls explain the concept. 2. What happened to Awolowo in 1963 and how does that relate to Abiola of 1993? 3. What did Awolowo not succeed at in 1963? 4. If Yorubas didn't vote for Shonekan, who voted for him? 5. Was it only Yorubas that voted for Abiola in 1993? |

Shikena: Hope in what way? How does Awolowo being imprisoned in for treason now relate to Abiola of 1993 as hope? Which hope? |
Re: Awolowo: 1963. MKO: 1993. Tinubu: 2023 by lexy2014: 7:26pm On May 29, 2023 |
Ofemmanu1: Is that a subtle way of saying you have idea as to how to answer the question? Since you are "rich in history", why is answering the question difficult for u? What happened to Awolowo in 1963 and what has Awolowo got to do with what happened to Abiola in 1993? |

lexy2014: You have been answered. Go ahead and research further based on your understanding of the word "hope". My apologies but I'm not interested in any useless & unproductive back and forth with you, so any further mention on this is hereby ignored. 2 Likes |

Shikena: Aren't you aware that asking you questions is the basis of research? But since you have researched, then u shouldn't have any problems answering the question. A dude got imprisoned in 1963 for treason. Abiola won an election in 1993 and the election was cancelled. Where is the relationship here and what has both events got to do with hope? |

lexy2014: Check online for the AG/UPN manifesto. That was the first place anything like free education, school feeding programme, women empowerment, free heathcare, rural integration, agricultural boards, commodity exchange etc was ever mentioned and fully implemented anywhere in Nigeria....The SDP and AD manifesto was very similar and the bearers somehow had ties to the UPN leaders. Even Abiola that wasn't a UPN man, had his SDP filled with UPN elements. Of all the manifesto and government plan ever implemented in Nigeria, that of the western region UPN still stands out. The correlation to now, is that Tinubu has traces his root to AD(a party founded by men who were in UPN and Awo's companions) ... As for Obasanjo, yes he is a bona-fide yoriba man but he wasn't yoruba's choice when he sought election and won in 1999. The yorubas who yearned for the UPN manifesto knew clearly that he isn't of that stock....he didnt even win his ward... For yorubas,it isn't about tribe but alignment to the aspirations we cherish... |
