The Solar Installer is an experienced, primarily field-based position with a focus on job site execution and process improvement. The position requires advanced Solar Photovoltaic knowledge, extensive experience performing work in the residential and commercial sectors, strong communication, strong organizational skills, and a willingness to travel overnight. The Installer will be responsible for executing tasks assigned by the project manager, maintaining a clean work environment, and interacting in a friendly manner with clients.



Responsibilities

JOB TASKS • Install photovoltaic systems in accordance with codes and standards using drawings, schematics, and instructions. • Assemble solar modules, panels, or support structures, as specified. • Accurately layout and install solar racking systems per design on ground and roof mounted systems. • Mount and wire PV modules per specified design. • Identify and resolve any deficiencies in photovoltaic system installation or materials. • Program, adjust, or configure inverters and controls for desired set points and operating modes. • Determine materials, equipment, and installation sequences necessary to maximize installation efficiency. • Be part of a friendly, communicative part of an installation team of 3 to 4 people working on all parts of a solar power installation. • Extend a high-level service to our clients representing AWPS in a courteous, punctual and professional manner. • Perform routine photovoltaic (PV) system maintenance on modules, arrays, batteries, safety systems, structural systems, weather sealing, or balance of systems equipment. • Adhere to daily and weekly schedules for project activities under the direction of the Project Manager. • Must be committed to safe working practices, knowledge of OSHA safety standards, and understand the importance of maintaining a clean job site. • Maintain AWPS standards of quality control, client communication and client satisfaction.



Key Requirements

KEY REQUIREMENTS • Minimum 3+ years installing solar for Commercial or Residential projects; relevant experience in construction and electrical industry can also be applied. • High level understanding of building and electrical codes. • Relevant 2 or 4-year academic degree (can be waived in lieu of experience). • Willingness to travel 1 to 2-weeks per month. • Basic carpentry experience. • Ability to perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials. • Comfortable working at heights and on ladders. •

NEPA light is the best way to charge batteries. The charge current is even and consistently high. Batteries can enjoy the full phases of charges with NEPA. However, your NEPA credit will be going wella. While it is better to use NEPA, it is more expensive. But using NEPA will not damage your batteries.

There is no info on d charging current. It only state that u should discharge d 220a in 20hrs. That's 11a/h

The recommended charge rate of C20 for most tubular batteries is 20A.

1/20 which gives you 0.05 and then you multiply that by the battery capacity which is 11A. I would have followed this up with a few lithium campaign but make I no talk

That's d recommended discharge per hr. They charge faster though, most likely 40-60a/hr charging current.

Am currently getting an average of 18 to 21amp of charging current from a two 400watt panel sometimes I get 30 to 32amp on a very sunny day but my 220ah battery doesn't get a full charge b4 sunset though I do switch on my refrigerator for 3hrs, during the day. I advised some of friends last year December/January this year to start buying the accessories gradually. They were planning and postponing it.
One of them called me today to ask for the price of battery and inverter.

Good morning house.We want to do an upgrade for the solar set up in my house.Currently the set up comprises of-
5kva pure sine wave inverter
60amps epever tracer mppt charge controller
4 pcs 220ah gel battery
8 pcs of 320w mono panels (connected in parallel on opposite roof tops of the house)

My installer is suggesting we buy 4 more pcs of the 320watts panels to add to our current set up.

That makes it 320w *12pcs which totals 3840watt
I have asked the installer if it won't be too much,but he said it is okay.

Pls what's your opinion on this cos i assume the manufacturer has maxed the rated charge power at 3000w as seen in the guide below.

Also many pcs of the 320w panels can we add to get a faster charge considering the existing set up we already have?Are we safe to go on with the upgrade or we should stick to keeping it at 3000w rated charge power stated below?

According to the poster immediately above, the max rated power of her charge controller is 3000 watts in a 48 volts setup while the max PV open circuit voltage is 150 volts.

Has anyone run their charge controller at the max rated charge power and max PV open circuit voltage?

Is it recommended? or should I allow for some headroom?

If yes by what factor?
