Nolevel666:most people never read d bill dem jst they comment... D bill will give way to university autonomy... How many people can afford 200k as tuition fees? Hw r we sure that d loan granting process will be transparent in a country where people pay to get juicy NYSC state |

GeneralPula: Honestly, we lost a chance to erect good structure in the education sector. The general populace should have come out enmasse to support government funding of universities when the strike was on... Now, I keep asking myself, can these students pay 400k? 300k? Students that struggle to pay 15k school fees in government institutions. As much as we have lost the chance, we can still hold the government accountable for the education bank. Paying back 50% should be pushed and not the whole 100%. Also, minimum wage has to be very high. BAT has started on a right foot. |

Millions of Americans have student loan debt, amassing to more than $1.6 trillion by the end of last year, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. It’s the result of a decades-long explosion in borrowing coupled with soaring education costs. Student loan debt has reached astronomical levels in the U.S., with 43 million Americans carrying an estimated $1.5 trillion in federal loan student debt and $119 billion in private student loans. They should rather go and study how Germany is doing it. Universities are very cheap in Germany, Austria, Switzerland. |

drizslim:Not true because students whose parents don't earn up to 500k a year will not be able to access the loan. Are there no children of the poor that manage to go higher institution of learning? Govt has some gains from this bills? Is the loan for everybody? |

This student loan bill is good but what if you didn't have a job after NYSC or the two years. It literally means you'll be arrested and have to spend another 2yrs in prison. Let's choose wisely what we are after ooo |

ASUU and anything to maintain corruption are like 5 & 6. Who is the rich and the poor? Except they mean the corrupt elite who have enriched themselves with our commonwealth. |

Lol.. in more developed climes once ur through with academics u almost certainly get employed so u can payback the loans but here in Naija same can't be said. It's a good step in the right direction if and only if provisional changes are made where applicable in every other sector. All the same weldon Jagaban. U will finish what u started 🙂 |

JOemmy:it has been hijacked even before it was conceives as a thought. They have the funds to send their wards Harvard. Maybe as time goes. Influential men of means will seek the loyalty of young admission seekers, promise them to pay off their loans in exchange for loyalty and start avoiding repayment or simply loot the system elsewhere to repay. 1 Like |

Islie:Let the loan also be available for ppl to do business..not for education alone after graduating let there be loan to open businesses..and let us run a credit economy like in developed countries..its an attempt to curb the japa trend...if you no pay your debt you are bound for a very long time and you won't be able to travel.you would be blacklisted..and school fees would skyrocket pass the current level |
