I really don't understand. It's a straightforward application process. There's nothing out of the normal I think.

Just get to Denmark VFS website and pray you get a slot.

As soon you get your uk license, ask you current insurer for a revised contract or check d market again. You get better deals

Also, post a high insurance excess (hope you never have to use it though)

Their mum can apply for a visiting visa (hopefully the sickness is not too serious, so flying is not an issue).......

Be prepared for NHS sending you a massive bill (an NHS hospital bed, is Β£600 per night, minus treatments & consultations)......

Mum can come to UK through visiting visa. You will have to pay for NHS expenses if she use their services

Hi my friends, I'm planning for my mother-in-law to come visit I and my wife in the UK to assist us with the kids. I have read a lot on this platform, and I appreciate the sacrifice.

My question is:

1). If the first application ( 30 days visit) becomes successful and she comes over to the Uk and then travels bk to Nigeria after 30 days of visit, how long do you suggest she should stay in her next visit before the visa expires ?
Note: we really need her for child care reasons.

2). On expiration of the 6months visa, If we apply for 2 years visa, how long do you suggest she stays in the UK for the first visit and subsequent visits ?

I understand the visits shouldn't be long and frequent so as not to look like a settlement.

I will appreciate anyone who has done it before or seen it happen to help me out.

Cheers

If she' s coming to help out with child care, then make her first visit about 5months, then she can stay away for around 6months before coming back.

Thanks for your input. Staying away for 6 months would affect my kids bcs they are not up to 4 years (primary school age)

What if she stays for 30days in her first visit, travels bk to Nigeria and spends 30 days in Nigeria, and then returns to the UK and spends the remaining 4 months, would visa renewal be a problem?

Not sure there’s a way around this. Why is the tenancy not in your name?

My cousins and her husband Annual is more than 200k plus... they got the apartment of course no Landlord would decline such individual... this was after several attempts to secure an apartment with lots of turn down either insufficient guarantors to blablabla
Kept going for viewing no success

Then, we were curious to atleast have a home first irrespective of who's name or not

Why 30 days for the first visit
I guess you are mixing it up
She can stay a max of 6 months maybe 5 months 2 weeks to be on a safe side irrespective of how long you stated she would stay during your visa application.

First visit 5 months w weeks then goes back and re apply after a month or so
Hopefully returns.... since she's helping with the kids

The higher the excess, the lower the insurance policy.........😜

If you agree to a £1000 excess payment, when you make a claim, you MUST pay your insurance £1000, to progress a claim.......😭😭😭😭

If she stays more than the no of days stated in her application for the first visit, I read it would cause a visa denial during renewal.

Don't you think 5 months on the first visit would raise eye brows ? What would be the purpose of visit for a 5month visit? Child care? Would that make sense to the ECO?
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by oluwaleokey: 6:54pm On Jun 25, 2023
I don't think so
Long as she didn't overstay, didn't cause nuisance, access to public funds during her stay, no bad records...she will be fine
It's the validity period granted to her and she has the sole right to utilise it as she wishes...

They understand especially an aged elderly woman would love to stay with her loved ones/grannies forever not even 6 months grin

If she's lonely and a Pensioner

It should not be an issue but why spend all that money on flight when she can stay for 5 months straight?
When you say it will affect your kids, what do you mean? If they are so attached to their granma, have you considered sending them to live with her?
Re: Living In The Uk-life Of An Immigrant (part 3) by bigtt76(f): 8:35pm On Jun 25, 2023
This looks like a good plan to me if you can afford the airfares. BTW what visa plan are you on? Are you settled? Perhaps you should look at applying for her to stay long term as someone who requires special care which you and your wife would provide ...you can research more on this.

I want to co-ask on this. Please how much proof of funds would be deemed sufficient for a child care visit visa of this nature.

This depends on your situation and the requirements. Make sure you have enough to cover the airfare and a bit more (at least that's what I have done several times in the past). But my situation may be different from yours so do what you deem siutable to your situation.
