Same price that was quoted for me earlier today. That means it is general.

People should try out ofe akwu, curry sauce and efo riro. Make tomato stew rest. Or increase shombo and rodo. I can't use tin tomato. That is the one I am sure of.

Nigerians never even begin to adjust tbh... Rainy season is still at middle stage, so flooding threats are very much in the clouds!

Sometimes, I feel this APC regime has embarked on a massive social experiment alongside IMF and World bank to see how far Nigerians can be stretched in suffering!

So far, it's really looking like the elastic limit is far from being touched! cool

I think this tomato and pepper scarcity is not peculiar to just Nigeria. Most African countries are experiencing the same

This item is transported from the farms with petrol then with diesel for long distance then petrol to the market you buy them

Tomato association reacts

The President, Tomatoes and Orchard Producers Association of Nigeria, Mr Bola Oyeleke, who spoke with one of our correspondents, attributed the scarcity of tomatoes to the disease outbreak, fewer tomato farmers and high temperatures in the North.

As far as I am concerned, these are the two major causes and they are both logical, most especially the temperature, the season.

By default, our economy can not sustain any strange or consistent change, that's what the government needs to work on

All this fuel price hike and dollar rate being attached by some greedy traders is a scam on its own, most of the vehicles that travel tomatoes in the country are diesel powered and diesel price was not increased

Yeah... "We will survive it"!

Same words of consolation used and passed on since the 1980s!

At what point will you Negroes move from 'surviving' to actually thriving?!!

Every administration is now a phase of survival!

What can one do in a country where the people are being marginalized by their leaders? You talk, they silence you with weapon.

Abeg, e go better one day.

If you know the number of pieces of tomatoes sold for N500,you will understand what I'm saying, rodo, alubosa and other stuffs are not like that

I'm not saying it's not part but it's hugely insignificant...I queried a trader in my area and she said it's the season. It's the season, it happens every year within a period and it will go naturally

Explain

1. Fuel is N500/L
2. Four seed of tomatoes is now N500, something I use to buy for N200
3. Phones, Transportation, food, everything is now expensive due to the cost of fuel
4. Tinubu increased politicians salary by 100%

All Tinubu has done since he resumed office is to continue from where Buhari stopped, instead of making life better, he only made life worse for Nigerians.

I know you know all these, you know the truth but tribal sentiment won't allow you to admit that you made a mistake for supporting Tinubu

1. N500/l is an effect of subsidy removal, do you want Nigeria to continue paying subsidy?
2. Tomatoes challenge is seasonal and temporary, it will go back before September ends...rainy season affects tomatoes, had anything changed with rodo and onion in your place?
3. Phones, transportation etc are still effect of subsidy, do you suggest he reverse that decision and we go back to subsidy regime?
4. This is a false assertion, I'm supposed to be chatting with an enlightened person, at least....do your findings.

Well, I don't know where you coming from on tribal issue but your leader, Obi promised to remove same thing during campaign, so why are you contradicting your principal's ideology?

what is federal ministry of agriculture doing about this every year ?
Isn’t tomato seasonal? What can the ministry do to change nature?
Except green house farming which is very expensive.
Even with irrigation, harmattan will still come, and tomato plants can stand it.
Naturally, there should be a period of scarcity.

You are one of the individuals that brew tribal war in Nigeria and your days are numbered, when you will accept fate that you are a Nigerian and not a Biafran or whatever
