There are too many factors hampering what should be the positive essence of floating our currency and until you eliminate these factors considerably, this would continually be a bad idea.

Reverse this nonsense FX liberalisation policy, take stringent means to eliminate the scourge that is the Bureau De Change system in Nigeria. The politicians who are the brains behind the BDC operations are holding the Nigerian economy to ransom. That on its own, is Nigeria's greatest challenge to the accessibility of FX by the masses and businessmen.

But because the President himself is atop the echelon of FX hoarders, he can completely decide to feign blindness to it and opt to rather implement a policy that would leave detrimental effects on the masses.

When asked the reason for the decline of the naira against the dollar, Abubakar, a BDC operator in the Agbara area of Ogun state, said there has been increased demand for dollars amid a supply shortage in the market.

“Dollar is scarce now in the market. How much do you need? I can find it for you,” he told TheCable.
