I'm a living witness to this Sir

Most of my solid buys are during heavy bearish seasons when most people won't buy

I believe one can enjoy the market better when you have predictable investment income which you can reinvest as stock prices fall, this will increase subsequent Investment income. Ability to keep on buying in a bear market is where serious wealth in stock market are made

Although if you sell your Fidelity Bank shares at today price of N8.45k and use the fund buy a 20 years FGN bonds. The Investment will give you an investment income of 730k per annum for the next 20 years, which you can reinvest in shares

But you need to know that the income is fixed, unlike dividends and rents that can be increased

Which investment house can agree to help one invest in FGN bonds with around 5M naira. A lot of them want you to have huge funds unless if it's savings bond.

I have sent an email to stanbic long time ago, they usually dont understand that i do not mean savings bond. They want me to do 50M for normal bond

I prefer Money Market Funds to Treasury Bill.

With 100k and above you can buy FGN bonds through Stanbic IBTC Bank or Stanbic IBTC Stockbrokers

Yes boss. I do. My money has been in their MMF since the days when bond yields were over 15% but they did't respond to my request

Since it's not up to the required 50M, will this appear on one' CSCS portfolio as well?

One thing i have learnt in Nigeria is to imbibe the habit of going to their office, i mean β€œhead office β€œ with ur request......
Phone call is reserved for the Elumelus, not pretenders to the throne like me

On Friday MTN should bless us with another dividend raise again! I love getting rich without doing anything.

For your own good, away from their useless dividend reinvestment this time. Still waiting to be credited for the last one smh.

U can buy with less than 50mn for the secondary market option. It is also possible to buy at the primary market with less than 50mn if there is a set of people willing to pool up funds to make up for the 50mn naira minimum bid.Bonds are being held by a Custodian.U can move to other financial institutions if needed too

If you buy through a stockbroker it will reflect in your CSCS statement.

If you buy through a bank, the bank will be the custodian of the investment. You can always write a letter to CSCS through your Stockbroker for the investment to be moved to your CSCS account.

Most Stockbrokers are not too good with bond investment, it is advisable to move such fixed income investments to either StanbicI IBTC Stockbroker or CSL Stockbrokers or any other Investment house that is grounded in fixed income investments.

You will need N50 million for that if you are buying FGN bond and not the savings bond.

What the banks do is to buy billion naira worth on behalf of their customers and make some money through that.

so that means if i use less than 50M to buy via a pool of fund using stanbicIBTC brokers, i cannot find it on my CSCS.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 6:11pm On Jul 25, 2023
If you don't have up to N50 million, you are expected to go with the bank rate and the bank will be your custodian, until you write a letter for the Investment to be moved to CSCS

The bank will buy billion naira worth and resell to you immediately. It is more liquid when the bank is the custodian.

You can ask your questions on the Treasury Bill or FGN bond thread, so that we don't derail this thread

Wish I'm well loaded in SEPLAT than MTN
This is nice.
I remembered when you bought MTNN that time, the many analysis paralysis then....... grin
It was expensive at that price truly o, but it was for only those who could sight value and key into it ahead that eventually benefitted from it.

In another news, forex inflow rises by 28%....
