Hello can anyone pls assist with this?

If the result of your medical examination shows this

Evidence of Tuberculosis: Present

Are there any suspicious active signs of Tuberculosis: No

Please can one be denied on this basis of this? Having stated that there is not active sign of TB

PLS HELP! Thank you everyone.

NO. Application will be approved if it meets the eligibility criteria. Worst case scenario you will do a sputum test and thereafter a final X-ray which delays applications by 3 -months.

Goodday All,

I have some questions to ask concerning the visa application for study permit and I'll appreciate if the gurus here can respond.

1. Can my husband be my sponsor and also apply for the SOWP while I apply for the study permit?

2. If I receive a cash gift from a parent, what documents do I attach to the application to proof the money was a gift

3. As proof of home ties, can I use landed properties and cars stated in my husband's name?

4. Does my husband (who my sponsor) have to explain lumpsum inflow stated on his 4 months SOA

1. Yes

2. If the money is significantly huge then you have to add a gift deed, your birth certificate, documents to show his source of income, SOA, his ID,

3. You will need stronger home and economic ties than that

4. Yes

1. Yes, he can be your sponsor and still apply for SOWP (You will need to have strong home ties)
2. Gift deed, Letter of support from your parents, their IDs to show your relationship to them.
3. Yes to landed properties and cars, you also need to show other ties like association membership, you siblings, your parents.
4. Yes, he has to if he has lump fund deposits, the explanation should be back with documentary evidence.

No! As long as it's 1 country (not 2) in Europe, you don't need a transit visa- your Canadian Visa will cover you.

Hello everyone, Please I will like some clarity. I booked Ethiopia airline to Canada, but I will have a 2hr stopover in Belgium. Do I need a transit visa while in Belgium so I can connect my next flight to Toronto Canada?

Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 5:25pm On Aug 07, 2023
Proof of Funds
Study visa, visitor visa, and etc are all called non-immigrant visa or can be referred to as temporary resident visa. I will be talking more on the proof of funds, a lot of internationals get their visa refusal not just because of insufficient funds but rather insufficient means of funds, you must have seen cases where there was sufficient amount of money but the visa still get denied, this might be due to insufficient means of funds then again other factors might lead to visa refusal.

What is Proof of Funds, POF It is the total amount you will need to have to cover for your stay for the duration of your program in Canada this applicable to other countries.

Source IRCC website: Temporary residents must have evidence that they can support themselves and any accompanying dependants while in Canada. That evidence may include one of the following:
1. cash, certified cheque, bank draft or money order in an amount large enough to cover all reasonable expenses to be incurred during the stay in Canada
2. verbal or written statements, which can be confirmed, that satisfy an officer that sufficient financial support from friends and/or family is available and has been arranged to adequately cover all reasonable expenses to be incurred during the stay in Canada
Assessing financial resources
You can combine any of the following documents
1. bank statement(s) or deposit book(s) of applicant (and spouse) that show accumulated savings
2. applicant's (and spouse's) letter of employment or employment book, providing name of employer, applicant's position/occupation, date employment commenced and annual earnings
3. host's or family member in Canada (and spouse's) evidence of income: such as previous year Revenue Canada Notice of Assessment indicating annual income; or alternately, letter from employer(s) showing position, date employment commenced and annual earnings
4. evidence of size of family for host or family member in Canada (to equate earnings with size of family to ensure ability to support long-term visit)

Now to the may topic of the day how to calculate Proof of Funds POF
How to Calculate Proof of Funds, POF

This calculation is in 2 phase
1. individual and
2. family

Individual:
This illustration is for an individual going for a 2yrs program
Formula
POF = 1st yr tuition fee + 2nd yr tuition fee + 1yr living expenses + 2nd yr living expenses

Example: Please refer to your country's currency for conversion purpose
Kindly refer to the duration of your program, and tuition fee

Let say your tuition fee is = 18,000cad/yr
duration of program 2yrs
Living expenses outside Quebec = $10,000cad (IRCC website)
Putting this together

18,000cad + 18,000cad + 10,000cad + 10,000 = 56,000cad
POF = 56,000cad
So this is the amount you are expected to have that can cover for you stay in Canada, but in some cases you can show just 1yr living expenses in addition to your 2yrs tuition fee, if you want to reduce the amount let it be the living expenses.

Families
For a family of 3
Formula
POF = 1st yr tuition fee + 2nd yr tuition fee + 1yr living expenses (You, the student) + 2nd yr living expenses (You, the student) + 1yr living expenses (spouse/first dependant) + 2nd yr living expenses (spouse/first dependant) + 1yr living expenses (Every additional accompanying family member) + 2nd yr (Every additional accompanying family member)

Let say your tuition fee is = 18,000cad/yr
duration of program 2yrs

Living expenses outside Quebec = $10,000cad (Not including tuition fee, IRCC website)
First family member = 4,000cad (Not including tuition fee, IRCC website)
Every additional accompanying family member = 3,000cad (Not including tuition fee, IRCC website)

Now let put this together
18,000cad + 18,000cad + 10,000cad + 10,000cad + 4,000cad + 4,000cad + 3,000cad + 3,000cad = 70,000cad
POF = 70,000cad
This is the amount expected for you to have for a family of 3. The principal applicant (student) going for a 2 yrs program with 2 dependant.

Disclaimer:
Note that this is just for demonstration purpose to give the applicant an ideal of what he/she should have it doesn't mean that this is the actual amount you should have before attempting or starting your study in Canada process, as there might be other determining factors.

Hello house, i want to use my dad as my sponsorer for my study permit application. Im submitting his bank statement as proof of funds, he is into business but his business is not registered with CAC. So i will like to know if it is necessary that he explains in his letter of sponsorship how he is able to accumulate the funds in his account to sponsor my education or is it important that he shows documentary evidence that shows how he was able to make the money that he has in the sponsorship account ?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 23 by JMG12: 6:42pm On Aug 07, 2023
He should explain his earning and also evidence too, receipt of transaction

Most explanations I see only consider Masters of two years. A PhD is four years. Pls I got this questions;

1. For a PHd without funding, is showing two years tuition and one year living expenses sufficient?

2. Is the fact that my wife and 3kids are remaining in Nigeria and a study leave with pay from my employer enough to proof home ties?

3. After two yrs of study, can my wife join me and still get open work permit?

4. If my salary is less than 200k, must I explain the source of over 12mill in opening balance. (No any lumpsum within the 4months bank statement)

1. This would have been fine if you aren't a self sponsor. Do you have a sponsor? If yes then you can show this and explain with evidence in details how your sponsor will cover up the remaining subsequent cost.

2. This is good already. You could still add some

3. Yes. You don't have to wait till 2 years

4. If your opening balance is healthy and close to your closing balance, you could just give a summary of how you made the money and saved over the years.
