Some people are in a desperate debt cycle, perpetually robbing Peter to pay Paul.

I have a friend who is badly indebted to loan apps. He's in horrible mess, borrowing from one app to pay another.
Most of the time it is lifestyle or lack of control. There are people, once they see loan they collect. Lots live above their means too.
See, change in lifestyle, cutting your coat to your size helps.
Eg, for the last 9 months, I stopped alcohol. Now to avoid taking it, I stopped hanging out in joints, meeting up with my paddies. At night, I rather put 2 bottles of water in the car, take a drive, sometimes park in known places, smoke my cigar, drink my water and browse.
1-2 hours passes, I go home and take a bath. If you know how much money this has saved me.
My paddy hangs out at eg westend sports bar, 10-15k minimum ever other day. If he gets high, he carries babe eg 20k, he pays for lodging 15-25k. At least 50k gone easy. If it is Ikeja gra he hangs out, twice that money he spends.
He then tells me when he is lamenting, he did turnover of 300m last year in his factory but nothing to show for it, as in he does not know where the money went.
No be juju be that?

Learn to argue logically.
What stops anybody living in Okoko from going to Lekki to commit suicide especially since there is no sea and ocean in Okoko?

Grow up buddie.

No sea in okoko lolz what of Badagry and apapa

There is sea shore in that area and several rivers

So, Okoko is now the same thing as Badagry and Apapa?
Maybe we should kuku agree that all those who commit suicide by jumping from the third mainland bridge reside in Oworonshoki?

Or those who jump from Eko bridge reside in Idumota?

Cheers.

You're correct. My friend has no discipline when it comes to money.

It is something he inherited from his mother. His mum is a spendthrift, Lagosian by birth, though with Mende (Sierra Leone) , Lagos and Itsekiri descent. Funny thing is they live in Mende, Maryland and the street is named after them.

She used to be a weapons supplier and built her first house at 25. She has sold most of her properties now and basically lives off her Block of flats in Maryland which is a source of passive income.

I feel sorry for your friend. I won't be surprised if his kids have to make do with a piece of meat or fish each while he lavishes money outside.

When He's old and has nothing to his name, he'll say "country hard."

Most wealthy Nigerians are so self-centred that they wouldn't want to give a helping hand to the poor. Poor men are always more hard hit than women.

Truth is, you can help that your friend if you want to. More often in life, people tend to change a particular habit when they are mentored by someone who" has been there before".
Take a step today and you will be surprised.

Entitlement mentality.
Truth is, in life, no one owes you anything.

More often than not, the rich you are talking about are ten times more disciplined in soooo many areas than the poor. A rich man in a mansion of ten rooms will give birth to three kids. A poor man in a dingy, single room will give birth to nine. Wife illiterate. Husband barely literate with pry school cert. He will work as driver for a rich man and call him a stingy, and wicked person when that one refuses to spoon feed him.

Suicide rate has doubled, all thanks to bad economy policy without critical thinking and roadmap. Very quick to remove imaginary subsidy but foot dragging towards cushioning it's effect. People are suffering with many heading towards depression everyday.
Insensitivity, impunity, recklessness and lost of touch with the masses has now become major characteristics of governance.
This country is in comatose and I sincerely hope she can be revive back for the sake of the poor and helpless people existing inside.
People are suffering as the needy are getting isolated by friends and loved one's for fear of monetary commitment. Nowadays, nobody wants to check on you as they're afraid one might use the opportunity to ask for financial aid since they as well are trying to adapt to present economic reality.
There was a country
Which way Nigeria
Cry, my beloved country
It's all making sense.
Oh God! Help us, as we're patiently waiting for the wind of change.

I overheard someone talking about the same incident at a location within Lekki. I felt depression 2018. I felt sadness man. It was not funny. God bless my Mom. She stood by me. It was so severe that I was scared of being alone. I had thoughts of ending my life. It did last for over 6months. Do you know what kept me on check? The tears my mom would cry if I had made that selfish decision.

Depression is real. People are going through a lot.
