You're already familiar with company A and can get promotion in addition to the Sponsorship.
You can also pivot to a bigger company with sponsorship when settled in the role after a year or two

Yes unless a previous employer has done it for you before by getting a waiver even if you have been here less than five years so your new employer will just apply to transfer the clearance

For DV clearance however only citizens can qualify unlike SC where non citizens can qualify. If you are not a citizen just forget about roles asking for DV clearance

I just got this email from my employer ''In relation to your Sponsorship application, as the hourly rate for your proposed role does not meet the criteria, we may be able to proceed if we can change your offer , whereby you work night shifts. Would this be suitable for you?

And I raised this issue last time during my AccessNI that the hourly pay was supposed to be 10.75 and not 10.70 and my manager said the annual salary is over 20,960 because I will be working 40hrs/week.

Good evening @justwise, @mex551, lexusgs430 and other elders, a flatmate of mine recently got a provisional offer with the civil service that requires security clearance. However in the job advert it was stated that

"For meaningful checks to be carried out, individuals need to have lived in the UK for a sufficient period of time to enable appropriate checks to be carried out and produce a result which provides the required level of assurance. You should normally have been resident in the United Kingdom for the last 3 years if the role requires CTC clearance, 5 years for SC clearance and 10 years for DV. A lack of UK residency in itself is not necessarily a bar to a security clearance and applicants should contact the Vacancy Holder/Recruiting Manager listed in the advert for further advice."

My flatmate was happy about the provisional offer at first but got later got sad as he is unsure of passing the security clearance. Please who else has gone through this type of situation and passed it?

He can be granted a residency waiver, they will just ask for some additional information and documents like police character certificate from his country of origin and character reference

Stop wishing me ill-luck. I agree several things could've gone wrong for them but I also stated my thoughts on where they may have been complacent which for free I can tell you almost 90% of the last September/January japa cohorts were involved. We may want to remain in self denial but it is not a good trend to encourage. Issues like these are what is causing the government to change their rules and universities may be forced to follow same route.

Hello guys.

I had a job from nov 2022 till date. PS its my first and only job in uk.

Now from nov 2022 to april 2023 my salary is not up to 12k. But within these months, i paid tax of about 100+ in feb,100+ in march and 80+ in apr 2023.

On the hmrc site it says i paid 0 pounds which i assume is the correct thing.

But my employers took taxes from me according to my payslips.

I feel i should have the feb,march and apr taxes refunded by now or could i be wrong?

What does you payslip say for the deductions? Is it PAYE or Employee NI contribution? Also did you get a P60 from your employer at the end of the tax year?

That’s quite enough time to prepare given your progress, and you have all the materials you need. But stop playing games with the hazard perception, try to understand how points are calculated. I’ll advise you start with the training videos again.

Pele! You’ve made a very expensive mistake! Pay the fine and next time consider using the train. You can get a return trip to London from Birmingham for less than £20 if you book in advance.

In hazard perception, make sure you click each perceived hazard at least 3 times and not more than 5 times to avoid clicking too early or too late. And don't click more than 10 times for each hazard perception video. You only need to score at least 3 marks in each video to pass

Check gov.uk website...all payments advice should be there. Also, the letter you have should also advice you how to make the payments

Is it possible you take a train instead?

If you pass M23 or M25 on your way into London, you would have to pass the Dart crossing. I think it's £2.50 per crossing.

There's a website for checking if your car is ULEZ compliant.

Download waze app and see if it is able to help you avoid the no emission zones.

Hi guys, I have been in the job hunt for a while now. I got an offer from a company as a quality control personnel which is still connected to my background as an engineer. I accepted the offer and awaiting reference checks.

However, I also applied for a sales admin position in another company and during interview, the interviewer was very impressed but said I am over qualified for the job. The interviewer recommended me to her Line manager to interview for an account manager position. The line manager called to book an appointment but I said I have already accepted an offer with another company.

On a second thought, the pay for the quality control role is far less than the account manager and the job description is what I know I can do. I.feel very bad for turning down the interview invite.

Please can I call back the line manager and say l I will like to do the interview? How do I say it without sounding unprofessional.

And please will it be a breach of contract with company B if I turn down the offer after accepting it? Although I haven't recieved a contract and I am due to start by first week of next month.

No p60 was given. It says NI a seperate money was deducted for that, it also says tax a seperate money was deducted for that, then pension a seperate money was deducted for that.

Move on with the one you have accepted, gain the UK experience and probably more better jobs/opportunities will come your way as you go on.

You probably drove through the Congestion zone. See map of congestion zone below and operating time is 07:00-18:00 Mon-Fri, 12:00-18:00 Sat-Sun and bank holidays. No charge between Christmas Day and New Year's Day bank holiday (inclusive).

The daily charge is £15 if you pay in advance or on the same day, or £17.50 by midnight of the third day after travel.

You will get a PCN if you don’t pay after the third day.

You can challenge the PCN if you are sure you didn’t drive through the zone.

ULEZ is different from congestion.
You have been asked to pay congestion charge not ULEZ charge.

Looks like you have been charged for driving through the congestion zone and not for ULEZ as my earlier post suggested.
