The same useless structure/system that they gave you is the same useless structure/system they gave others who have taken advantage of and better themselves. Take responsibility for ones.

And also talking about puppet, if Alhassane Ouattara is a puppet and Gbagbo is for the anti-imperalist then pls i want the West to keep installing that kind of puppet for me and my people. I don't any anti-imperalist .

These terrorists are making Isese, Yoruba's culture and traditions, become more popular. It's important that educated Yoruba people promote the native culture and traditions and take part in the local festivals.

This is necessary because many aspects of Isese need to be reformed, and people of high intelligence and exposure are needed to achieve this aim.

There are many ancient beliefs and practices in Isese that should be abolished because they've lost relevance in modern times.

The same thing applies to other local cultures and traditions in other parts of Africa.

Highly intelligent Yoruba people should introduce philosophy, science, and critical thinking into Isese to develop this culture so that Yorubas can move forward.

Aspects such as making sacrifices to a deity, worshipping gods/goddesses, and others don't have any importance in modern times.

Oro practice should be modernized or abolished.

Africans generally should learn from history: When the colonizers and slave masters came, the gods and goddesses couldn't save anyone.

If people keep engaging in making sacrifices to, or worshipping, one deity or the other, the continent won't be able to grow and develop like other regions of the world.

And if foreign people invade the continent again in the future, they'll still be successful again if Africans fail to get rid of their ancient beliefs and norms based on superstition and fear of the supernatural.

Any culture that doesn't grow with the times will die sooner or later.

Making sacrifices to a deity and worshipping god/God have no usefulness in the modern world.

It's time Yoruba people embraced science, philosophy, and critical thinking instead of religion and superstition, so we can move forward.

Yes.

Because u said it cost billions of dollars 2 develop uranium/nuclear plant in niger.

Is the West expected to have such an intention? Is the West expected to develop Africa? And is Africa expected to develop the West? Every race or people is after their own interest first, well except most Africans?

Lols, for most Africans, they first think of the interest of the whites, especially Isreal if they're Christians, or the interest of Saudi Arabia first if they're Muslims before they think of African interests?

Do you see why Africa will remain underdeveloped and backward for a long time so long most Africans practice Christianity or Islam? Lols, the Africans aren't even intelligent enough to know who their ancestors are. Lols, most African Christians and Muslims believe their ancestors are from Israel or Arabia even without any proof in support of their belief.

And when you say they've a low IQ, they feel insulted. Lols.

If it is not symbiotic like you have answered, that means Africa has actually been the parasites that have benefited from the items I listed.

Who controls what? Are the resources in the West? Why can't African countries trade with other African countries instead of the West so they are independent?

Why are Africans leaving in their droves to the West for better pastures? Have our leaders done enough to mitigate the exodus of young and productive minds out of Africa?

Why can't African countries open their borders and passport to other African countries to boost trade and investment?

We know how Chinese company owners exploit Nigerian employees in Nigeria. How about Lebanese and Indian employers of labor in Nigeria? Should we also blame the West for those?

So what exactly is this debate about then?

African leaders have failed the continent, it is a non-negotiable fact that we must accept.
How has Africa benefitted parasitically from the brain drain through immigration?

How has Africa benefitted parasitically from trade with the West?

How has Africa benefitted parasitically from technology transfer?

In all of these Africa has always been on the losing end.

Please don't sound like the idea is to alienate Africa from the rest of the world. That's not the point. The point is that when we have to negotiate for any thing we should be able to engage with them on a 50-50 bases. For example, if they want our crude then they should refine it in our country. If they want our uranium, then they should give us their technology to apply nuclear power for electricity. These are the simple terms I mean when I say the relationship should be symbiotic.

You asked a question about what the debate is about and I totally agree with the bolded in addition to the fact/reality also that if we must deal with our own leaders we must also take cognizance of the West who support such leaders and force them on us.

Listen to yourself sounding like an entitled brat. They should give you, they should give you!!!!!The West owes you absolutely nothing! Are you gifting the West your crude oil and uranium for free? What have you used the revenue collected from these sales to the West to do?

Where are the working refineries in Nigeria? Whose fault is it that our refineries are not functioning? The West I bet? Away from crude oil, can we talk about the elephant project called Ajaokuta Steel that has been used to embezzle billions in the name of revival?

How has Africa benefitted parasitically from the brain drain through immigration?
The billions of dollars remitted by Nigerians from the West that is now sustaining the Nigerian economy is what? What has Nigeria done to prevent the brain drain? Are tertiary institutions still embarking on strike? Are medical doctors embarking on strike? are primary healthcare hospitals functioning? Should we blame the West also for these? So you expect young minds to remain in a country with no future because they believe in Nigeria and hate the West?

I asked you, why are African borders closed to fellow African countries? Why are African travel visas closed to other African countries?

I have travelled easily to other African countries for vacation using my US Passport in comparison to using my Nigerian passport (something, I will never dare again) as an African. Should I blame the West for that also?

Address the elephant in the room instead of this merry go round about the West.

Why will anyone do this? Will you do this for anyone in your private capacity?

You want to sell your yam to me, you collected money and now say I must cook it in your pot
You want to sell car to me, you collected money and insisted I must only drive it in your area
You sold me a shirt and after collecting money you insisted that I must only wear it on Thursdays

If you want all these maybe you should not collect money

But mba you collected full price for your crude, gold and you are insisting on how the buyer that paid you have to use what you sold

If he likes he can use the crude to bath or mix akamu, Its no longer your business once you take your money for it

The crude they are buying from non African countries, are they refining it in Saudi, Qatar and UAE? Its this entitlement mentality. Why should anyone do anything for you? The Chinese mining your gold, How much are they paying for it? Are you giving them all these requirements as well?

In sub-Saharan Africa, USAID works with its partners to improve access to and delivery of health services, to support more accountable and democratic institutions, to start businesses and foster an environment attractive to private investment, and to stave off conflict and strengthen communities. In Fiscal Year 2021, USAID and the U.S. Department of State provided $8.5 billion of assistance to 47 countries and 8 regional programs in sub-Saharan Africa.

Because saying people should leave Christianity and Islam but then go back and embrace isese religion sounds to me like regression.

I'm sure several aspects of isese' practices cannot be Intune with modern standards. I will hazard a guess that isese practices today still entail, female enslavement, male supremacy, diabolical practices and soo on. Just guessing here. I disagree with that sentence very strongly.

The statement, "the west owes you nothing" can't be right. That erodes ones sense of justice. The west committed soo many atrocities and exploited our people for soooo long. They killed, kidnapped, maimed our fathers up until just few decades ago. To cause and inflict that much suffering and then leave like that (for those that have left) is simply not right. Which is why you even hear some of their thinkers talk about repatriation after factoring in what our resources, human and material added and made them who they are today. The west would not be what it is today without the African continent so yeah, it's very appalling for an African to boldly declare that the "west owes us nothing". That's a very strong and wrong sentiment and statement.

Yes, I know the West shares some blame. But the bulk of the blame lies with Africans. All those Africans killed by the West or even those captured as slaves, who aided them?

Their fellow Africans. Without the support of some Africans, the West wouldn't have been successful in most of their campaigns.

Look at the m.oron here calling all African cultures and traditions barbaric and savage, saying they should be abolished and replaced with the British culture.

If the colonizers and slave masters came again, this kind of person will gladly sell his fellow Igbo brothers to slavery for pecuniary gains.

He's calling for Africa to willingly submit to the British. This one is even so dull. Our forefathers fought hard to defend the native languages and cultures when the evil white and Arab people invaded Africa.

If not for their bravery and courage, African cultures and traditions would have long died and be forgotten.

But this imbe is telling people to abolish their culture willingly and embrace another people's culture that's not even better.

I told him to start his foolishness from his people at home. But obviously, it's easy to make foolish comments like this on this sort of thread where there are many i.mbes like him.

Nigeria is going NOWHERE in its current state, and that's a best case scenario. Its more likely that the country disintegrates sometime in the near future after being pulled every which way by ethnic rivalry.

And I do blame the colonisers for that.

This is one fact that will continue to be true.

The first coup plotters were very explicit about it .
