Bro, you are nothing but a slaver.
Use same car to hustle for a week, remove commission, fuel and feeding, then pay 80k to your other account and whatever is left you can take it as yours.
Lol if I was would I come here and put up this post askin for advice, cmon be smart at least. I don’t wanna be unrealistic reason I came here also I’ve seen post of Uber drivers making 45k per day minus fuel and Uber commission so let’s calculate. If he works for 6 days times 45 that’s how 270k. But I was thinking can this be real? If not everybody for don join Uber since ma why I came here to have insight from people who are in the business full time especially now fuel don go up. My target is at least 250k a month!! Anything less I just sell my car.

Just do the needful and sell the car to avoid stories. People who make those amounts you are reading about spends close to 12hrs on the wheel.
It's not realistic.

Bro, that figure is unrealistic if we are been real. There are 2 things involve if you insist.

1. It's either your friend kills the car or
2. The car kills your friend.

Well, no harm in trying.
The truth is the business is not as smooth as they make it appear, it's still what it is (transport business).
It may work for you too.

There is no lie here
It's mostly women that do the delay, foreigners and men almost never delay you, in fact they are already there waiting for you.
When I used to order ride too, I always monitored the driver and made sure I was waiting and waving/flagging him down as he approaches.

This is the norm in saner climes but Nigerians with bad characters abuse everything.

If you go take this my advice, do your due diligence well too oh. Sell the car use the money buy two Honda civic 2007-2008 model (well maintained Nigerian used). You can put both for uber.
Or sell the car use the money buy one Honda civic same 2007-2008 model. Use the remaining money run business.
Or sell the car. Add more money and buy 3 Honda civic 2003-2004 model (Nigerian used well maintained). Put it all for Uber. (Na just my business idea pls don't take it personally)

3 Honda civic cars? Do you know what it takes to manage drivers with the vehicles esp in Lagos? It's so easy on paper.

Don't dream.. you can't get 250k/month even in December..
The question you should ask is , if it was that smooth ,why do ehailing(Uber/Bolt) companies totally avoid buying cars? Since they know drivers make so much money....

Oga I repeat sell.of the car and save your long time friendship, it's not realistic. Don't believe everything you read or see here most are mirage, go closer the reality keeps running away from you.

Friendship is gold
Don't destroy friendship because of money.

Best option is to sell.of the car either to your friend by Hire Purchase @30k.weekly with no down payment since he's your friend or sell.it off outrightly to whosoever that can pay cash in full.

The car looks clean, if it's first body and under a year used with gear, ac and engine still factory fixed you can get a buyer btw 3m.to 3.5m. tokunbo of that car now is around 6-7m.

Another option I've for you is you drive it yourself at your leisure time mostly weekends, it's pays better bro.

Make your friend understand you dint want business disagreemens to come inbtw your friendship with him.

If he doesn't understand today he will definitely understand tomorrow.

Best of luck

On the highway 6, I got a flat tyre and I parked beside the yellow emergency lane.

To my greatest surprise, cops showed up. I was so afraid that omo na wahala be this…. 😔😔 A Lagos hustler will relate to this kind of thing.

Cop:- you speaks English??

Me: yes I do

Cops:- you got extra tyre 🛞 in there?

Me: yes I do officer

Cops:- we will help you fix it you looked tired 😴 have this water.

I wanted to cry 😢 seeing the humanity in them…

They didn’t asked me anything than this and still gave me water to drink.

I remembered how my own brothers were treating me back home, I couldn’t hold my tears back.

You’ll see your brothers in need and that’s when our officials will devour on you and milk you dry.

Please try and japa don’t let anybody discourage you with everything is expensive… yes is not easy but farrrrrrr better than naija.

Note: japa with right documents and if you do, make sure you abstain from drugs and illegal deals.

Another thing is the tend to owe you when you get familiar with them, to pay will become problem. So personal i prefer online, whenever i am done for day, I turn off my app simple.
This is why I don't do more than two trips with an offline passenger. They tend to get familiar and start owing you or forgetting to pay after a trip.

My humble advice, don't resign your job to do uber. Better you do both instead.

The good thing about a career is you can grow it rapidly if you are deliberate. I started my career in a consulting firm where people started started with 6 digits monthly as trainees and within 6-8 years most moved to 7 digits a month by honing their skills and seeking greater renumeration in the industry. Agressively pursue self development and seek growth opportunities.

Ride hailing may pay more now but may not give you such growth opportunities. Also, very little transferable skill should you decide to quit it in future.
Na now this advice dey pain me, If I had put in the hours I've put into ridehailing since 2017 into a career, I'd have grown more than this but that period self person no see better job for street! I believe one can still make changes at different points in one's life.

This is the humanity we've lost as a nation. Hell, people even find it hard give detailed help on an anonymous forum (Compare threads on Reddit with Nairaland) without dishing out insults.

Aren't you risking a driving ticket with the one handed driving? I wonder if most Naija uber drivers can ever outgrow the "one hand on wheel, the other on phone" driving style?
