Focus on the program’s relevance to your present or future career path, as most officers do not consider previous education if you are not a recent graduate.
LawreyK:

You do not need UCI; the field is optional
You do not need Police Character Cert for temporary residence applications
Logingist:
Do i need UCI to book Upfront medical? If i don't want to do police character, what will i include in my application?

It depends on the type of sponsorship and ability to demonstrate reliable sources of income. For example, you must show funds for the tuition fees and living expenses for the duration (2 yrs) of your program if you have no sponsor, OR show funds for one year and a reliable source that can generate funds in your absence for the subsequent year. On the other hand, if you are using a sponsor, you can show just the cost of education for one year, regardless of the duration of your studies. It is noteworthy that showing just the minimum is not recommended as it is unconvincing for the sponsor to spend all the funds on your education.

I believe it's best to calculate the cost of a flight to Canada and local transportation in your intended city and be realistic. Although IRCC uses 10K for living expenses, I recommend adding a couple of thousand to the living expenses, especially if you are going to cities with high living costs like Toronto, Vancouver, etc. That way, you can present your research in your SoP.

Cost of education for 1 yr =Tuition fee/year + living expense (10K)/yr + cost of flight and transportation in Canada
sazjun76:
Hello House,
Please I want to ask that for a 2 year diploma course, am I suppose to show the 2 years school fees on the POF or just one year and please are we suppose to show the 2 years for living expenses to or just one year?. Please someone should help me with this answer. Thank you

You can if there is a convincing reason you want to apply for them while in Nigeria.
To meet the proof of funds requirement in this scenario, you must include the tuition fee and living expenses for the family size in the application. In other words, the VO can refuse the application if the available funds are sufficient for the SOWP applicant and kids but insufficient when the student’s tuition fee is factored in.
AskGod07:

Is it not safe to apply for spouse with kids immediately after PA gotten his study visa ?

I can see an event whereby VO denied spouse for SOWP for this reason that you provide insufficient information to demonstrate that your spouse is a full time student in a qualifying program at a DLI in Canada.

Note: All they submitted all necessary documents related to spouse Studentship such as LOA, 1 yrs tuition, visa stamp, port of entry letter etc

Only that the Spouse Student still in Nigeria

I'm scare to initiate my family application for these reasons thinking maybe when I enter first then I will be having my study permit and school ID etc

Please any idea

Please try and do enough research before you involve yourself or money. Firstly, Canada is funking full for now, shortage of job and things are damp expensive. I have been in Toronto for 4 months now still trying to get a job, though I lack skills trade, so I'm still trying to figure out something to learn here, but he simple truth is JOB is hard to find these days because we have alot of immigrant coming in everyday. Secondly, all these study route I will advise, only those who really really wants to go to school should invest their money on it, if your target is just to come to canada and stay back, I wi advise u do visiting jejely so u won't waste alot of money and u will do your asylum gently getting here. Thay is the simple truth, sorry for my bad English ooo but I dey sure say u go understand am sha as long as you be Nigerian. Ire o

Thanks for your swift response bullstriker, the main application which is student already gotten his study permit with his own bank account.

Now the wife and the kids ready to apply with the wife bank account ie. (Separate bank account)

Are you saying that if the wife and the kids are ready to apply they should show proof of funds sufficient for themselves and the (student ie PA )? but they are using different bank account.

Note: They are not using POF that PA ie student used for his study visa.

The wife want to use her own bank account for herself and the kids for swop and SP for the kids.

Good day guys I’m a bit stuck here. After paying for my first term tuition I decided to complete payment for the first year (second term). Now the school is yet to send me an official copy of the receipt and time is going (supposed to resume January). Do I apply for the visa with a bank receipt of the transaction and explain the case to the VO in my LOE or it is absolutely must I get the receipt from the school ?

You can submit your bank details of payment via flywire or convera. Whichever your school platform uses to initiate their fund Remittance via credit card. Then again if u use telex submit the same. Btw January is damn too close to submit your application. It read 11 weeks processing wait time and u are unaware ? Reconsider deffering to later date to avoid your application been put to hold..

Alright thank u sir

JMG12:
You don't need to inform IRCC. If you can get the renewed passport within the time frame just send it across.

Please, does self sponsored applicants get late response compared to other applicants or what's the reason behind your question boss? I don't know, Just asking.

In my experience, self sponsored applications for first time applicants are usually the first to get a decision.

I think if you have biometrics taken in past 10 years, file will be easier to trace back with the history of past application, but for new applicants they will undergo some background checks, biometric recognition, medicals, et el.

When you say “are usually the first to get a decision” do you have a timeframe for that?

Good day,
Has anyone gotten medical pass before biometric capture?

I did upfront medical on September 18th
Submitted application October 14th
Schedule fo biometric October 26th
But got Medical pass October 16th
And since nothing has change.
I know I’m still with in the processing timeframe
I just want to know if getting medical pass had happened before biometric.
