That's for barest minimum start on average which is far higher than £22k average for other areas around the country. My assessment is quite correct. Also I have seen starting jobs where employers advertise to pay a lump sum of about £2k addition to help with moving costs to London. Network Rail that came to one Uni was offering £2.5k for 2.1 and 1st class grads.

Most of those kind of people will rent house shares or studios way less than that and share bills. I have explained before that Water, electricity etc are all about £300 total. TV license is nothing and nit everyone pays. I have never. Phone bills if you want to go Boougie is about £25/ month. Council tax btw £150 / £200. I do £5 phone as there is free WiFi everywhere.

Yes £10.00/hr, but that is before inescapable heavy personal income tax, National insurance, council tax, very crucifying rent, water bill, and energy bill. So, that £10.00 is a leftover of several hours. However, it is better than what obtains in Nigeria, other things being equal.

Lots of things are very cheap in uk. The joy is you can get the expensive yet very good ones in charity shops if you know your onions. So you can literally furnish your house like a big man from charity shops. Some of the things there haven't been used but they are obeying the law of the land.
Also the so called bills are okay unless you are illegal who don't have a good job.
And you can still save a lot.

The problem with Nigerian is when they travel abroad, they want to show they have hammered and go on speedy credits. Big car,big mortgage,big everything all on credit. And then blame govt.

If you are doing well in Nigeria, i mean you have a good business or having a high paying job and you and living within your means, there is no point relocating.

For me, i have a good business and a little real estate here in Nigeria and cant surely want to relocate for now. The future is very uncertain in Nigeria but it is still better than starting all over in another country.

I wont lie, it is harder for salary earners and stuggling business owners to survive in this country, so relocating is a better option if the means appears but it is absolutely not sweet over there too.

Please be advised that the 10 pound is for 1 hr of job. At 40 hrs per week, that would be 1,600 to 1800 pounds. That's what you should be comparing to the N50,000 minimum wage. Truth is most people on minimum wage in the Western world work more than 1 job so their month ly pay before tax could be 2,500 pounds.
