The way some of these foreign companies exploit Nigerians is really bad

Poverty has made our people to work in such places

It's more about employers (foreigners and locals) taking advantage of our clueless leaders who would rather take bribes than to do their jobs

This is the way a lot of factories operate in Nigeria. Even PZ at Odoguyan, their factory worker work from 7am to 7pm

The Government needs to make a law that will outlaw this insane working hours.

Not all Lebanese companies I'll treat their worker's. A very close relative of mine works for one such company and she is still there till date for the past 15 years. The company provides full first grade healthcare insurance for her and her whole family even fully footing the bill for the 3 C- SECTION operations she underwent to have her kids, I am talking of (#1 million) for each. Salary is good and they have never owed for once

You will be surprised to know that it's the Nigerian who are superior who made those rules.... I know some foreigners are cruel, especially the Indians, Chinese, Pakistani and Lebanese, but in most cases, the Nigerians who are opportunned to work closely with them are the ones who brings most of the policies that doesn't favour their fellow countrymen. ..
There is nothing they can do because they too are employed. And they are under the instructions of their employers unless they want to lose their jobs. It is not that simple to lay the blame on them

A single mother of four in her late 40s, Funmi, admitted that the work is too tedious, particularly when one considers the amount that is paid in return. But she said she could not stop coming because she wanted to save the proceeds from the factory to travel to Iraq and become a housemaid, a caregiver or a surrogate mother.

She said: β€œI have a target. Once I am able to save enough money, I will travel to Iraq to work either as a maid, a caregiver or a surrogate mother. I have made enquiries about Iraq and I learnt they are liberal. You don’t have to wear hijab like in Saudi Arabia.”

See how bad Nigeria has become that being a maid in Iraq becomes an option.

Politicians aren't seeing this.

You are very deep rooted in black peoples matter.

The way most black nigerians derives unlimited joy lowkey in seeing others suffer no be here. To top it all, perhaps they hate that person. That person own is finish.

As a normal and godly human being still in the midst of nigerians, most especially the poor people. There is no way your heartbeat won't be panting harder whenever you wake up in the morning and look at your surroundings.

Think above oil.

Producing less than 2 million barrels a day for a population of 200 million means you have a broke nation.

Go to Ibadan and investagate most factories there. You will cry. Where vibrant youths are working as slaves. Where people are collapsing like dried trees, body burnt due to exposure to the chemical without protection. Work for 12 hours, 30minutes break for #1250/day. Nigeria is a failed nation.

This is exactly what I experienced at Dana plastic company at iyana itire in 2010, I managed to work for 3 months and ran away.

Op just described the working condition in most factories in Lagos, both ok plast and the rest of them engage in this wicked acts. Then, we were paid 700 per day, you will come as early as 6:30am so that you can be chosen for the day and once you enter the gate and works starts, you can't go out again except a supervisor sends you out for something.

It was hell, I couldn't cope

Most companies around agbara axis are call work and die, 7 to 7 working time with 30min break, try coca cola, avanti, globus then you will know the lent of suffering.
NLC are one of the useless goat I've ever seen, I work in an unconducive environment in morogbo, agbara, a cream factory. After coming for inspection and the management wire them money, they will just over look the lapses and the environment and walk out without uttering any word. The nigeria supervisors close to the foreigners are another wicked human being, they make the employees suffer so that the foreigners can commend them.
