This battery Analyser is not accurate

Did you review it personally? What did you compare it with ?

hi everyone,, am having a hard time choosing between canadian 600w panel, jinko 550w and 580w panel.. am on a tight budget and want to replace some old sticker panels i have...

i would appreciate your comments..

thanks
You may need to consider their dimension too, for easier handling, especially if they're going on your roof.

No.
But the comparison was done using a good battery and a bad battery (there was a duration test first ).

The bad one came out good..

What the battery analyser does is try to read the internal resistance of the battery.
For a new batteries, SoH of about 85-100% is acceptable because of self discharge in storage while internal resistance of about 1.0 - 3.0mΩ is acceptable.

Note that the lower the internal resistance the better.

I beg to cheap in here. I do the same analysis when buying solar PV

So, I am not alone. I almost got the 670 watts panel but after adding cost of freight from Lagos it did not make economic sense..

If I can find a cheaper way of shipping it to Abuja, I will reconsider. They wanted to add an additional 40,000.00 Naira to the cost of the panels.

I thought LiFe04 are not supposed to be charged at voltages higher than 3.65, at least that is what they wrote on my EVE cells.

dacool1:

12.0v is 20% Dod for li-ion 3s configuration. Lfp is fully charge at 13.6v(when the charger is disconnected), 14.4v is the voltage when the battery is still being CHARGED, same thing applies to Lead acid batteries (flooded) charged at 14.2v to 14.6v depending on temperature and while at rest, it's fully charged at 12.7v.
On a final note, depending on your source of information and brand of LFP I'll stick with 12.8v for 80% DOD (to avoid over discharging)

Pls I need help or advice where I will repair this solar charge controller, the settings button are not functioning, anyone with idea how to fix it or repair it

Does it still charge?

Why do you say so? I believe it takes some measurements, are the measurements wrong ?

It does take measurements of say battery voltage which you can get from any voltage meter. But it doesn't really tell you accurately if a battery is weak or not

yes,just that I can't input battery setting

Well, the batteries won't really be charged above 3.65, the voltage difference is what helps charge the batteries, the bms often shuts charging when batteries are full. Thats why I said the batteries are considered fully charged at 13.6v

Let our ogas in the house contribute. My knowledge is kinda limited in some areas.

I just bought 575watt original Jinko panels from the dealer here in Abuja. It cost 160k per panel which is far better than transporting from Lagos. Plus, the dealer delivers to your location after purchase.

Which dealer did you patronize?

Are these labels those of original trina panels?
The asking price is 55k.
What's your take on the is guys?

It looks, to my untrained eyes, as if there was another label there that was removed to place this Trina label. Also, the label appears to be older than the solar panel. I may entirely be mistaken, just making assumptions based on what I could see in this picture.

Maybe it's one 3000W one I know...

There's this tranxless inverter labelled 3000w, the board can't power 500w.

A friend of mine bought it from a warehouse and showed me. I showed him a better one and used the "fake 3kW" as UPS for my TV.

Open something and free yourself.
Or better still complain to them.
Obviously it is not 3kva.
Post pix too.
From the specs and price, it can never be!
Re: Solar Energy, A Complement To FTA by ewizard1: 9:12pm On Jan 11

Yes, lfp handles load better than lithium ion because lfp has a more stable voltage during its discharge. Lithium ion can also be discharged to 80% but voltage will be much lower and this affects inverters performance.

For comparison, LFP fully charged at13.6v and 12.9v at 80% Dod while lithium ion 12.6v at fully charged and 12.0v at about 20% DOD. Note the voltage difference.

Most times, inverters will hit LVD on some load while using lithium ion despite having a lot of juice but it rarely happens when you make use of LFP (especially when your battery bank is not large).

Though you can correct this by changing the configuration of the lithium ion by changing from 3s to 4s but this usually cause a problem with getting the voltage to work with your inverter especially 12v systems.

Yes lithium ion do have higher nominal voltage but the voltage sag is more noticeable on lithium ion than lfp.

Please check my modified post
They have different operating curves.
