Thanks but no thanks to the Senator. Unlike those so called advanced Nations practicing this method, Nigeria doesn't have guaranteed jobs fr her citizens. In cases where one is jobless fr two three months , he is sure to be able to work up before the year elapse to pay up |

He should also initiate a direct and auto billings from Tenants account, such that before tenants salary lands in his account, the landlord and others he's owing are automatically credited. 2 Likes 1 Share |

This is not good. It will push up monthly rent payments. It will create another chaos. Landlords will prefer private agreements with tenants willing to pay 1year rent and exercise of prejudice against a month rent seeker. 1 Like |

/ To collect once a year na problem. Then imagine collecting 12x in a year. If anything, they should look into the fees: agent's fees, lawyer fees, etc that add up the total amount payable by a prospective tenant. / 1 Like |

Re: Senator Nwoko Initiates Bill On Monthly Payment Of Rent by mastermaestro(m): 8:57pm On Jan 27 |
Good2go1: Monthly rental is a global practice. Nobody is asking for free housing from private owners. Just make it monthly so wage earners don't choke trying to pay rent. May I remind you that house rentage used to be on monthly basis in Nigeria until about 2 decades ago when sharks took over and began demanding two to three years from prospective tenants. Someone wants to bring regulation to a vital area of human existence. You should not be bitter unless you are a part of the chain bearers. 1 Like |

Why the criticism? This is a good bill. Nawa for all these jobless men that their parents left buildings as an inheritance. Go and look for work. Buildings are legacy projects and long-term investments. Not a get-rich-quick business. |
