Someone wrote an article and a massive bear commenced!
Why would those who held on all these while now sold out when it gets to earning period?

I don't think that article has any meaningful impact to yesterday/today bloody market. The FX situation is the main cause IMO.

If I bought XYZ at #2 last year and it is currently #15 with a potential dividend 'earning' of 12k p.s.. However, it has dropped to #11.5 today shocked
Do you think I should wait for the 'earning' or cash out?

Not everyone is an 'investor'. A large majority are 'traders'... wink

I made some money in 2 different sectors and invested the profits in some businesses.

I am right now in the brewery sector and very much bullish no matter the level of pull back in the market now.I am happy I invested my money in stocks with small free floats.

Either I make profit or they buy me out.

I dey laugh any body that thinks the new CBN circular will stop banks from making profits or even FX gains. Is this the first time CBN is trying to stop/limit FX gains in banks?

Wait make UBA release their yr end result...grin grin grin

I don add to my UBA....after race we go count mile. If you took some profit from the market during the bull, Kudos!!!

Me I dey wait for atleast N2.00 from UBA and dividends from other stocks grin grin grin

Was never part of the hype gang. Anyone who bought really low and is still holding must either have some insider info or has great faith that can move mountains... or is in for the long haul

Unless there is unknown, the market is very much healthy.Take a look at results released so far.

Anyone who panic sell his healthy stocks will still pay brokerage fees to get the stock back.

We can only take advantage of the pullback and average down in some of these good stocks

Experience is the best teacher. Unfortunately, it is only the power of experience that can give one the courage and strength to weather hug the bear. I have learnt from experience that the bolded is always inevitable and so I stay put especially after taking a decent profit during the bull. Once beaten, twice shy. Panic sold my NAHCO, UCAP and other healthy stocks during one bear like that. Never would I make such mistakes again. This market, we die here grin

BETTER TIME TO BUY INTO THE MARKET - THE TRANSCORP EXAMPLE
Transcorp's stock price has recently entered the daily value zone, coinciding with the NSE sentiments turning negative. This presents an opportune moment to consider accumulating shares, but conservatively. A Transcorp stock price at or below 13 Naira is particularly attractive and represents a potential bargain.

PLAN YOUR TRADES AND TRADE YOUR PLANS

What is your take on transcorp considering today closing price?

that exactly where TA skill comes in, not that TA will indicate exactly when price will rise or pullback but at least it will help small.

UBA from 34 to 26 thatz N8. portfolio of 1m unit already shed N8m, 8m can get one good addition unit of the stock @ today's price embarassed.

TA or no TA i will never touch a stock without considering the FA first. it is when the FA is 95% ok and i estimated the FairPrice then I look for entry price with TA

Note: UBA fundamental remain intact nothing have change yet, I hav posted bedsheet's opinion fairprice of the stock here in the past but price can not continuing rising forever to it destination on a straight line.

grin grin grin grin
The problem with the picture you painted is that you can't say for sure how low or high the price can go and when to dive back in. For the example you gave, all it takes to recover and even exceed the 8 million price pull back is just few days of upward price movement, while you that sold thinking you are smart will be left in the cold.

Anyway, na you be the expert, while me na learner

Transcorp stock remains a BUY as long-term is bullish. With the market breadth bearish, the stock price may dip further down. Next is to:
-focus on weekly value zone (IF market breadth remains bearish) and buy more to add to my portfolio
-However, whenever market breadth changes to bullish and stock price below the daily value zone, I add more again.

Thank you.

It looks more like institutions dumping their stocks, probably trying to reduce exposure or something similar. If it were retailers dumping, it wouldn't look like this. The rate at which they are withdrawing their money will surely result in losses for them. Stocks like Zenith took a slow ascent to go up in price. The way they are crashing now, if it continues, will quickly take them back to pre-bull run prices. This is not clever in my opinion. I can remember how GTCO was distributed in 2022 - the entity selling then was dumping it slowly over time.
