This showcases the failure of governance.

Creating special markets to meet temporal needs won't solve any problem. This is never a solution. Every Lagosisn shouldn't wait till Sunday to buy from the market.

You go about reducing the purchasing power of the people through stringent policies, then go back to introduce temporal subsidy on food. Is this sustainable? No.

Nigerians and failure is 1+1

APC Govt: Provide the enabling environment for private sectors to thrive. APC Govt has demonstrated that govt in business is simply lootocracy 100%,!

Remember Trader Money, Sharing of Abacha Loot, Covid-19 Palliatives, Feeding school children during lockdown, Rice 419 pyramid?

Predictable Outcomes: Stampede, Lack of Accountabilities, Misappropriation of public funds, Inadequacies, Sustainability impossible, Nepotism galore, Insensitivity organising this on Sundays, Crass FIASCO! Square pegs in round holes....

Una Wahala too much, you guys always speak of cushioning the adverse effect of policies before it starts to pay off yet you’re still complaining about this One , what do you people want ?
Electricity is not yet stable , fuel has been sold upfront , minimum wage has not been concluded , PH refinery has not started functioning presently so what’s the fuss ?
This will help for the mean time before these policies starts to pay off.

Good as it may seems, this is not the best for Nigerians. Why impoverished the people only to feed them like slaves.
Government should focus on fixing the basic needs like security, accessible electricity etc and watch if people will cry of hunger.

This is quite common all over the world including countries like the USA and UK. Its part of the social safety net. Food banks, food kitchens, food stamps and vouchers.

Unserious elements in the seat of power. Even the initiative will not see the light of the day and will not reach those who really need it. Greedy lagoscians will still hijack it and still do business with it. Return the prices of market the way you meet it....that's simple.

"Ounje Eko", it's cool, love it! How I wish we (Yoruba) are not part of this contraption called Nigeria!

Yoruba people are truly blessed or how do you explain it when your sworn enemies can't even exist without you! They hate us,yet they keep arriving in droves from their erosion-ravaged land of primitive bushmen!

You have a very valid point, but don't you think if all state governor key in to these initiative Nigerians will be at ease. The government just need to start from somewhere, before we tackle other loopholes.
Measures like food security by tackling bandits and unknown gunmen in all regions so that our farmers can go back to the farm.
Subsidizing of agricultural inputs for framers.
And lastly, subsidizing agricultural produce by government to it's citizens,if all these is done in a very transparent way Nigerians would be a happy nation.
The Lagos state government is starting with a lovely initiative first Nigerians must eat.

If you fail to provide food on the table for Nigerians you are nothing but a failure....
The Lagos state governor is on the right track.

Why quote price in Kg when normally, we buy in paints and derica. People will end up buying higher prices than normal because normal 1 paint of beans is 5,000 naira and is more than around 5kg if I am not mistaken. But buying in kg from the government market, you are paying up to 6,2000 naira. Same as rice, Nigerian rice per paint is 5,500 while government price per 5kg is 5,300; the difference is not much.

Anyway, anyone can correct me if I am wrong

And before the holier than thou crew attack me, I am not anti-lagos or anti-sanwo Olu oh.
