omoredia:How in God's name is this a handout? Lagos State buys goods wholesale direct from farmers or manufacturers.Instead of the price being say 2000 in the free market, they sell 1700 or 1600.So how is it a handout which you pay for. Remember, the state will bear the cost of transport from the company, won't pay omoonile on the road and won't pay market levy, some of the cost that are added by the ordinary seller to get at 2000. So how again is this a fu cking handout. Some of you are really disgusting. The only issue here is whether it's a sustainable policy because of it is,the mainstream market people would have to reduce their own prices which in Nigeria these days are most times union determined or uniform because you can easily communicate with any trader and ask him what is the price of goods in his side.If it's higher, someone in Badagry that sold at lower price in the morning would have jerked his/her price before you finish leaving the same store. 13 Likes |

How did we get here. Before now Nigerian were going their normal business before the drug lord call Tinubu came to scatter every thing in the country. Even as bad as the man from daura called buhari, despite his shot coming for the right years he ruled, Nigeria's never line up to beg and look for cheap food until this old drug lord took over. We all most rise to save this country if not now, but in the next election by voting a competent person. We most rise above tribal sentiment because hungry doesn't have any special consideration for any tribe. 2 Likes 1 Share |

Villa12:All these is besides the point because your rebuttal is based on the assumption that I must be a Tinubu supporter. Every reasonable person knows Tinubu is a disaster but my own argument is based on the fact the person I quoted said this program is a handout.Clearly it's not because it's neither free goods or is the discount even that great,25%. People seem to forget that even in the most capitalist Nation on earth, the US,there are still food banks, social security guaranteed income for ALL American citizens not working and even this same discounted food markets for those that don't mind or are low on cash for varying reasons or need to save cash on food to meet up with other expenses. This is because they understand food is the primary sustainer of life and if you eat,you can save or totally forgot other expenses on health, transport, travel or leisure |

Glimpsetv: Don't compare Federal scam project with LASG. That Federal scheme was laced with corruption from the get go. Military personnel were allowed to buy multiple bags while most civilians except a few were allowed to buy . The whole thing was hogwash until some paid miscreants came around to bungle the whole thing. Now the FG has suspended it indefinitely.. What do you think happens to all those bags of rice? 4 Likes |

HUMANIIST:. Same here. I have never felt so ashamed of being one. But what to do as it's not a matter of choice. The sight of those people lining up sort of reminds of me people @ IDP camps queing up for food rations. Why is it so difficult for APC to overturn this glaringly anti-people policy, even if it comes in half measures? It seems the ruling class have a Nigeria of their own within the Nigeria we all generally know 3 Likes 2 Shares |

seborrhic:ok good. The point now is how many household can afford the so called 25% discount. I learnt the highest you can buy is 25k. How many household can cough out 25k in Tinubu government? Just as they're selling a bag of rice around 84 -87k depends on location. If your so called government should decide to give it out at 25% discount, please tell me how many households that can cough out 63-65k for a discounted bag of rice? This is what we're saying bro. This government has so much improvished the people to the extent that garri is now a luxury in many households. 2 Likes |

To keep people in perpetual poverty and use them as willing tools, pallatives can not revive a failing economy , by next week you will go back to square one, but it’s unfortunate majority of Nigerians re gullible by culture , religion and illiteracy , but once your culture does not promote competition and progress 4get it in Nigeria. |

As a Nigerian I feel a lot of pain about the senseless killing of Nigerian army personnel in Delta State. It was an unprovoked attack. The soldiers were there for peace building effort. Just imagine and put yourself in their families shoes., and imagine the pain of losing a father, brother, uncle, friend in such manner. May there soul rest n peace. 3 Likes |
