WEALTHNG! WEALTHNG!! Run! Run! Run!! Imagine Wealthng platform billing me 10% to buy shares....What?!. Na to Ben Johnson sharparly. Out of curiosity, should stockbrokers charge up to that? Shouldn't this charges be regulated within reasonable range? Are there other brokers that charge this much? 1 Like |

ExcessKJ: Expenditure or money spent by companies are put in bracket on their financial statements. Marketing and admin expenses are monies spent in the course of business for the quarter. Numbers in bracket could also means a losses incured during the period under review while Income don't have bracket. You can check investopedia on what elements make up an income statement. Many other items can be put in bracket in a financial statement. 2 Likes |

AN INVESTMENT LESSON FROM THE SPIDERWEBS: WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A POOR AND A WEALTHY HARDWORKING PERSON? IT IS ALL ABOUT MONEY. Money is abundant. Money is EVERYWHERE! The government has money, the banks have money, schools have money, restaurants have money, students have money, there is money everywhere in the World. You have money, your friends have money! The rich have money, the poor have money! Money is EVERYWHERE and always moving. Money is “flying” all around us, ALL the time, 24 hours a day — everyday, 365 days a year. The difference is in HOW they ‘catch’ money. Poor, hardworking people invest their limited working hours ‘chasing’ money, while the wealthy, hardworking people will invest the same amount of limited working hours building an asset that will “catch” money for them. For example, spiders will NEVER work hard chasing flying insects to make a living. Instead, they will work hard building a spiderwebs that will catch abundant flying insects for them. Please 🙏 I have a question How can I know when (what times/dates in a year) companies listed on the NSE are to release their quarterly or yearly financial reports - prior to releasing the info. Perhaps, there are no NSE stipulated time of the year listed company are to release their reports 3 or 4 times per year Please, what is the rules of NSE & SEC, within a period of how many days pre or post fiscal quarters in a year must companies release their financial reports Please, what is a fiscal quarter according to NSE (from when to when in a year) Thanks in anticipation |

Streetinvestor2: Let's do a little bit of deductive reasoning shall we? Why would ellah lakes restrict only insiders from trading during the period commencing 20th March till 24 hours after release of the information? Since trading continues on the floor (there was trading friday 22nd march) and remains open to the general public, it follows that the closure/restriction seems to apply only to insiders and those related / connected to them... why so if not that they stand a chance to use such info to make money via insider trading Just engaging in some deductive reasoning... what kind of info would be able to make insiders money if not positive info? Not financial advice... just my humble self doing some D.A. (deductive analysis) 1 Like 1 Share

SonofElElyonRet:There are rules and regulations that guides every aspect of the operations of the NGX......as contained in the 2015 Rule Book of the NGX. However, there were amendments to some of the rules in January 2018. So, when going thru the Rulebook, also bear in mind that some amendments were made to some sections of the book. In the case of Insider restrictions, kindly note that it applies to all listed Companies on NGX and in their closed period notifications, they always reference Rule 17:15 or 17.18 as the case may be. You may do well to check out Rule 17 of the Rulebook. 4 Likes |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Frangel: 8:24pm On Mar 24 |
ExcessKJ: There are 4 quarters (3 months each) in a year and the company determines the structure; the most popular being Q1(Jan-Mar), Q2(Apr-Jun), Q3(Jul-Sep), Q4(Oct-Dec). This applies to all banks by regulation. The rules require a company to release its unaudited results for a quarter within 30days after the last day of the Q ending. Where it's for Q4, same rule applies and the audited financials should be filed within 90days after the last day of Q4. Where a company decides not to file unaudited results for Q4 (or any Q but wants to have interim audit) it is required to file it's audited results within 60days. Note that banks and insurance companies need to get their reports approved by CBN and NICOM respectively before filed at NGX. This could affect the timelines. NGX and SEC websites would give you details. 1 Like |

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by chillykelly86(m): 9:11pm On Mar 24 |
yMcy56: Just to add to what Madam Mercy has already highlighted, every listed company is supposed to declare such closed periods regardless of whether the result is good or bad. Because, someone privy to a bad result before its disclosed to the market can as well sell off. So, bottomline is: closed periods, ordinarily, only mean results are about to be released, nothing to deduce from it. 4 Likes |
