“The money the airlines are saying that they are still owed is money with the commercial banks and not with the government, because commercial banks are private. They are not government entities,” Akporiaye added.

If FG had not cleared the backlog, this revelation may not be out that banks owned by private individuals are actually the one withholding some of the funds that made airlines withdraw the low-priced tickets.

EFCC should move into this matter before these private individuals frustrate the progress the FG just made in this area of bringing back the low priced ticket.

The reduction in price is as a result of the competition occasioned by the entrance of Airpeace into the international flight market.
It has nothing to do with the trial and error policies of the CBN angry

Which competition ?
How many international routes does air peace fly? It cannot compete with any foreign airlines that fly into Nigeria

Moreover, Air peace belong to GEJ family
It was set up with looted amnesty funds

So what happens to the hiked up prices they have been getting away with for at least 10yrs? Traveling from the west to China is cheaper than the west to Nigeria. These airlines need to be heavily penalized and fined for extorting Nigerians trying to go home on holiday which will even help the economy. The FG should really monitor the airfares and put in regulation. If they don’t like it they can exit the route.

The airfares are still high.

except this has nothing to do with the FG or Tinubu. The backlogs are still uncleared due to huge losses the airlines would be hit with should they convert their tickets sold at the 440 rate to the current rate. The money in USD they would get would be probably a third of what they should have using today's rate. This is why Nigeria airfares are far more expensive than even neighboring Cotonou, they are trying to make bumper profits to hedge the loss of that FX recalculation in case in the long run they don't have a choice but to accept govt terms.

This is simply and totally a response to the competition that AIR Peace now poses to the other foreign carriers.

Say thank you to business competition, not Tinubu. Someone also posted proof as to why even dumb Bubu should be thanked and I agree. A 13billion naira waiver is huge, so he can be linked to this success of air peace at least.

I am not surprised that Obidients are illiterates who can not connect the dots. They don't even know how to forsee small actions that leads to big gains. Imagine if Obi had won the presidency they would have been too dull to handle the fractured economy left behind by Buhari. Thank God Nigerians dodged the bullet by voting a highly experienced man for the job.

If you are confident that it's a matter of trial and error the CBN is up to, then I suggest you empty your bank account to buy dollars and hold until the end of June. This action will truly demonstrate your conviction by backing up your words with your financial commitment. Deal?

why this bitterness ! Later, you wil be the first to point fingers at the obedient for their insult . Have you ever sat down to understand that who ever wins an election ,governs both those that voted for him and those against him .And whatever policies by him do affects everyone in equal measure?

Your hatred for him influence your interpretation of grab it...why is Peter obi going to court and jumping from one party to the other if power is served Al acarte (on a platter)?

In politics, power is not served you "fight" for it "grab it: and you defend it.That is politics anywhere in the whole world unless you want to deceive yourself.
It doesn't mean killing...it means "Struggle " through lobbying, decamping, campaign, going to court etc.

But being a hater, you will interpret it to what will reinforce your hate while his lovers will interpret it to reinforce their love.

You are just a hater!

To every action there must be a reaction. I noticed that some obidients from a certain region are not interested in constructive criticism that can make this country better. They only want to castigate and abuse Obis winner. They are embittered that Tinubu defeated their kinsman so nothing Tinubu does is good. Is that how to do opposition ? They talk and behave like sadistic saboteurs of Nigeria praying for all sorts of things including coups. We cant allow such people to dominate the SM. Every patriotic Nigerian has a duty to put them to shame before they demarket Nigeria internationally.

Without FG's support, air peace wouldn't have gotten the approval operate along the London routes, clearing of forex backlog also contributed.

Moreover, investigations revealed during Buhari's tenure that Air Peace was created with embezzled funds from the Presidential Amnesty Programme during Jonathan's tenure and then Buhari decided to look the other way since those looted funds is being used to create employment through Air Peace.

While do you think Buhari blocked the USA from arresting Onyema at the time he was declared wanted by the US for money laundering?? It is not all the time that you must castigate the government as many of you can't even govern your home but you must rubbish every little effort government is putting even now that it's producing good results so far.
