The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has revealed that President Bola Tinubu will commission some of the projects he started in May to mark his one-year in office.

The Minister stated this during a media chat on Tuesday, April 2.

According to Wike, some of the projects Tinubu will commission are,

1. Federal Secretariat (First Phase)

2. Abuja Metro Line

3. Southern Parkway

4. Roads B6 and B12

5. Vice President’s official residence

6. Wuye Interchange

7. Outer Southern Expressway (OSEX)

8. Northern Parkway (N20)

9. Guzape Lot 2

10. Guzape Diplomatic Area

11 . Five access roads to the Abuja train stations.

How I Plan on Spending FCT’s N1.28 Trillion Statutory Budget – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has explained how he plans on spending the FCT’s N1.28 trillion 2024 statutory budget.

Wike stated that 70 per cent of the budget has been allocated to capital expenditure, with 58 per cent of that capital component earmarked for the completion of ongoing projects, while 42 per cent is for new projects.

According to the Minister, projects to be given priority include the rehabilitation of 21 schools in deplorable conditions across the six area councils as well as the general hospitals in Utako, Gwagwalada, and Gwarimpa to ensure that they are up to the required standard

1. Foreign investors lost over 50% of the value of their investments in Nigeria

2. Price of foodstuff skyrocketed by over 50%

3. Petrol prices skyrocketed by over 100%

4. Electricity tariffs increased for many Nigerians (Band A) by over 300%

5. Nigeria’s Poverty rate in 2024 is projected to increase to 38.8%

6. Minimum wage remains N30,000 despite price increases and rise in cost of living

It'll be better if you can provide food so we have food in our bellies to enjoy these infrastructures lest we fall and die one day cos of hunger while accessing a newly commissioned multi-million naira project.

And it'll be best if you could create an enabling environment for those that can generate money and food to do so smoothly.
