See we come back to the same shameless hypocrisy you Igbos are known for. Why don't you lead by example then?

You are shamelessly living in every corner of the nation and profiting from "one Nigeria" yet you confused and hypocritical people remain the most vociferous seccesion noisemakers with your insincere and fake allegation of "they won't let us go".

Why not all down tools today and move to the SE to begin your clamor for secession from there? If you got Biafra today what happen to the millions of Igbos dispersed across Nigeria whose host will surely demand they leave?

Truth is Igbos are not doing anything that demonstrates they genuinely want their own nation beyond noise and blame game against others.

Igbos don't want to leave the land of others. Fact. You are insincere people who just enjoy playing victim and guilt-tripping other Nigerians as is your ways. If not you all should go back to the SE. Rich, poor, male, female. Leave and show you are committed to Biafra beyond words and blackmail against others.

Make we hear word. Scottish people live everywhere in Britain, but that did not prevent Scotland from agitating and getting an independence referendum in 2014

Catalns live everywhere in Spain, that has not stopped Catalans from seeking an independent Catalonia from Spain

Britain left the EU, but over 1 million British citizens still live in the EU

Many Eritreans still live in Ethiopia and use Ethiopian passports despite Eritrea becoming independent from Ethiopia in the 90's

Igbos have every right to live anywhere in Nigeria until that point they get Biafra. Only then can anyone raise the issue of going back to Biafra

Thankyou for your contribution sir. But I disagree with you that this is a useless thread?
For one you are here commenting on it; sharing your opinion; and I seriously doubt a person of your calibre would dabble in anything useless.

Alright got you.

I take back the “useless” term I used.

God judges us by our motives not our actions or else no one would have any hope. Nzeogwu meant well in my opinion-but their methods were dead on arrival.

Whoever went to school, moreso in a first world country like UK as Nzeogwu did, couldn't have sincerely had a good intention for even contemplating the sack of a democratically elected government let alone actually carry it out. Check the countries which make up the list of modern world economic and military powers and point out which one had its democratic growth punctuated by military rule.

Why do you think some of us refer to Igbos as the biggest hypocrites and clannish bigots on Earth?

Awolowo's effort to have a secession clause included in our constitution was frustrated by the treacherous Nnamdi Azikiwe in collusion with the North.

Yet it is Awolowo Igbos will insult and not the traitor Azikiwe whose previous treacherous action had ensured the only option of seccesion they had was war.

When Oju-iku then took them into that ill-advised war then wiped out millions of Igbos, it is Awolowo, Adekunle etal hypocritical and tribalistic Igbos blame not the slimy Azikiwe or the megalomaniac lunatic Oju-iku. Take hypocritical, dishonest and unprincipled Igbos seriously at your own peril.

After giving Azikiwe a very important leadership position in Biafra, Ojukwu was expecting Awolowo and Enahoro to join forces with him and come under the headship of the same Zik who had earlier on sabotaged their own attempt to get a secession clause into the constitution to make for a far easier and bloodless secession.
The same Zik would later abandon Biafra for the federal side when it began to appear that Ojukwu was losing the war.

Ademoyega in his book confirmed that the coup was supposed to take place later in the year but he found out from H.O. Davies that Sardauna, Balewa and Akintola were planning a very bloody crackdown on the Western Region and the Middle Belt. They then rushed their plans and staged it on January 15

If the crackdown on the Middle Belt and West had a jihad objective at the base of it as has been alleged by Ben Gbulie and Ademoyega, would Akintola, a Christian having Samuel as his baptismal name, have agreed to work with Balewa and Ahmadu Bello as said in the bolded?

That's for Akintola to answer. People with his level of moral reprobacy normally do not think that far.

This suggests that the likes of Zik, Nwafor Orizu, and Okotie-Eboh harboured same level of moral rebrobacy hence all failed to resign from a Jihad-plotting government despite being Christians.

The generation and admirers of a coupist will continue to reap the rewards by
1. Bloody violence
2. Betrayal
3. Manifestations in several other forms.

Seun it is better to restrict narrow minded opinions like this, it cannot be beneficial for forum discussions.

Akintola's NNDP alliance with the NPC meant that the UPGA crew of Zik, Nwafor Orizu etc were not just frozen out of the inner workings of government but were also prime targets. Akintola didn't care for the outcome, despite the ravages of operation wetie...a truly amoral human being

@ bolded part, above.........it was obvious to discerning minds (then) that this was the rationale behind the Jan 15th coup by the ibos - their principal have been pushed out of the corridor of power, consequently , they felt this was the right time to seize power from those "illiterate" abokis.

The initial mode of the Ibo's you mean! How on earth would someone claim that northerners, real northerners fa! rejoicing the cold blooded murder of the two most idolized northern leaders in history. Haba! this is just freaking unbelievable. It doesn't make any sense, just imagine for example; me as an individual born in the 90's, i still feel some kind of vengeful anger anytime Ibo people try to badmouth Tafawa Balewa or Sardauna (i guess it's probably true we Fulani's neither forgive nor forget ha!), i can't begin to imagine what my people felt back then, and to hear someone say that northerners where rejoicing haba! this lie is to much.
Infact i have a question;
Why would northerners rejoice the murder of their two most prominent leaders?
And as for the Ibo's every honest Nigerian knows they have the motive to rejoice, because everybody knows Sardauna is not in favour of Ibo's dominating northern Nigeria.

Don't mind them, Sardauna saw them for who they truly are, and decided such menace should not be allowed to thrive, that is why they decided to kill him. That coup is an Igbo coup, no matter how you guys try to sugar coat it. Bloody hypocrite.

Hmmm...ironic that the 2 coups carried out by mid level officers and revolutionary in nature were rushed and both failed! 1966 and 1990.

Difficult in Nigeria to carry out a successful coup without multiple G.O.Cs ( Major General) and Commander Brigade of Guards ( Brigadier General).

The mid and low ranked officers can be too delusional.

No honest person doesn't know and acknowledge that the unity of Nigeria was going to be a great disaster but your blaming the British for it is dishonest. Azikiwe and Ironsi who forcefully resisted all attempts made to make Nigerian break-up easy were not British men. Please take note.

And both men woukd later bitterly regret it. The good thing is tgat the present generation have had a long time, since Zik and Ironsi's time, to finally see that "one Nigeria" is a disaster, which will make seperation much easier. The white man should never have brought us together

At a point in time the White man gave consideration to the fact that it could possibly be a mistake on his part to keep attempting to join us together. He therefore gave opportunity for debate in order for himself to have a first hand knowledge that we all actually unanimously wanted an end to his experiment, but unfortunately Zik destroyed that unanimity the white man was watching out for as evidence that he was mistaken. In essence Zik and his cheerleaders gave his experiment a lifeline.

In an attempt to wear a lie the appearance of truth, logicality is usually the first casualty.

You obviously didn't read your Vanguard citation in between the lines else you wouldn't have missed where you have in in that:

1. Ahmadu Bello broke the ten year old NPC-NCNC alliance in 1964. This suggests that the Azikiwe Balewa governing coalition was formed in 1954 whereas all records have it that it came into being at independence (1960) on the necessity of surmounting the impasse occasioned by the fact that no party got simple majority in the first ballot of 1959.
2. That Azikiwe refused to formally call on Balewa to form the government. This means Azikiwe still had the status of President which he still clung tightly thus still an integral part of the allegedly jihad plotting government. And in the end he eventually called upon Balewa to form the government.
You fool no one with your revisionist tales.
