But on this thread we have Airmark the troll, Nihilistjnr the poor statistician and Popizaino the cricket scoreline enthusiast.

I don't know which of them is worse. The first shouldn't be taken seriously, the second can still be convinced and third can be encouraged to abandon this sport because it is not his thing, cricket is.

Prior to this abnormal and abysmal season for us,the tale of Chelsea fc for sometimes now has always been,we score one and struggle to double our lead. Then we concede from an unlikely situation and struggle to win the game.(if you need evidence of this then,am sorry to say you were never a Chelsea fan to begin with). In a nutshell we concede less and also score less.

Now judging from our situation above, any genuine fan would have called for us to improve our attack as a football club and also favour coaches with more attacking philosophy. If you follow my history here i always say i want pep guardiola here because with Chelsea he doesn't have to worry about defending, he should just teach us how to put the ball at the back of the net.

So it is never out of place for a Chelsea fan to call for improvement in the attack of his team.

Chelsea create a lot of chances, topping the through balls stats. But who are those receiving those passes? angry

Jackson would receive through pass, gets dispossessed or carry it to the corner flag, no shot taken and chance wasted. angry

Aston Villa, Newcastle, Spurs all scored more goals inside the box, than us. We have idiots as our marksmen. Once they get into the box they become clueless.

Disgraceful.

So

Same Pep that has signed more defenders than attackers at City? Pep will sell and dismiss our whole current backline first before building anything.

First step to building a team is solidity at the back.

😂😂😂😂

This defence vs attack debate is particularly amusing to me because when the likes of Timbrös & Kîmbeast blames the defence, I see the legit points they made and liked their posts, only for the likes of Nihilîstjnr & Aîrmark to drop their rebuttals attacking the attackers and they drop cogent reasons too and I end up liking their posts. 😂

It has gotten to a point where I'm confused on whom to blame. I've now come to the conclusion that like you, I agree that both parties are right and the truth lies in the middle which is that both attack, midfield & defence are to be blamed. The team is shìt and their coach is a doofus.

Like during the United match, it was a DM that gave away the first goal that Garnacho converted but yet my friend that watched the match with me was busy blaming Broda Shile for not tracking Garnacho very well. They keep forgetting that midfielders contributes both in the attacking and defending as well and deserve blames too. The team is bad and has an equally clueless coach just like my darling United team.

Agendaland is the place where nuance and context go to die, so I'm not surprised that people are putting me in Attack camp.

This was one of my first posts yesterday

nihilistjnr:

Attack vs Defence isn't even a thing here. We cannot be discussing kerping clean sheet against a team that conceded 21 goals in 4 games this season.

and a couple of days before that, I had said
nihilistjnr:

This season, when you remove Palmer's goals, the combined next top 5 scorers in the league have produced a combined 25 EPL goals.

Nicolas Jackson, the next highest goal scorer in our team has 9 goals. Cole Palmer assisted 4 of those. Not only is Ice Cold carrying the goal burden for this club, he is also responsible for spoon feeding half of the next guy's goal output.

Attempting to socialise Big Brr's contribution this season is a foul. Ice Cold is carrying this team solo.
If you remove Palmer's G+A, this team is in a relegation battle ...facts.

BTW, we scored 38 goals last season. We have 53 goals this season. That's a 15 goal margin...that's a Cole sized gap.

and then
nihilistjnr:

Cole Palmer has 16 goals on his own. Noni, Mudryk, Nkunku, Sterling, and Gallagher have a combined 17 goals between them.

It shows you that the so called attack that is OK, is really just Cole Palmer.

But when you realise that 8 of those 16 goals are from the penalty spot, and 1 of the remaining 8 was a deflected 'almost own goal', then it begs the question around how really good our attacking saviour is.

Mind you, i'm not saying that Palmer isn't excellent - he is. But if you're making an argument that Chelseas attack is ok, because Palmer is carrying it...most commonly through uncontested shots on goal awarded by the referee's whistle, then that argument is fundamentally weak in my opinion.

Yesterday we saw Palmer on off day -Jackson the guy that Palmer spoonfed half his goals could not even find ball to shoot once, Yesterday, Palmer got an 'assist', by making a s yard pass to Madueke on the wing to run and dribble the ball past two people before shooting from the edge of the box.

Palmer had an off game, and all of a sudden, we're looking for how to park bus against a completely hopeless team in 20th place.

Palmer no see penalty play, and all of a sudden, Chelsea has 0.44 xG against the first top-flight team to concede 80 goals in their first 30 matches in a season since Ipswich Town shipped 81 in 1963-64.

Nobody will look at our defence and say its not shambolic. I am on record telling Timbros that he had solid points relating to our terrible defenders. Also...
nihilistjnr:
I LOATHE Disasi

Absolutely loathe the fool
nihilistjnr:
Omg Disasi na Disaster.
nihilistjnr:
Disasi and Baldieshile are îmbeciles

What i will never accept is any stupid argument suggesting we needed to lock up shop against Sheffield United - managed by Chris Wilder. Since Chris Wilder returned to Sheffield United in December, the Blades have conceded 26 goals in eight home Premier League games, an average of 3.3 per match. It's the worst goals conceded ratio on home soil by a permanent manager in a single Premier League season.

Sorry. Not Sorry.

When I cautioned against heightened expectations in the beginning many thought I was pessimistic, especially Popizaino the numero Uno supporter of Poch. Poch has used the Gacon test to derail our season by running our fragile players into the ground coupled with his subpar tactical setup and in-game management.

Striker losing possessions anyhow, why wouldn't our defence be pressured?

If the mofo is losing possessions but converting chances, one can still manage him. Tammy Abraham was better than this fake Drogba and we had the opportunity to get an upgrade twice. angry
I said this about a week ago, players will recklessly turnover the ball 50 times in a match and when we finally concede a goal everyone will scream we need new defenders.

The same way they were drawing Chelsea 1-1 in the game today.

The only difference is that City scored the second and won but Chelsea scored the second and drew.

Who made the difference in both games? Attack or defence?

Defense made the difference, timbros wins again 😂😂😂😂

But then this is agendaland ,so nobody is a winner.

Both attack and defense are shit.

Chelsea currently has scored 55 goals
Leicester won the league in 2016 scoring 68 goals
Man Utd won the league in 2009 scoring 68 goals
At the rate of 2 goals per game Chelsea can end the season scoring more than Leicester 2016 and Man Utd 2009
So we can say Chelsea attacking output can win the EPL and has actually won the league before

Now lets look at the defence

Chelsea currently has conceded 52 goals
Even if Chelsea defence stop conceding from today till end of the season they will still have 52 goals against
Can anyone show me how many times a defence that conceded 52 goals won the league
Never mind if Chelsea continues to concede at this rate of 2 goals per game they might actually conceded 65 goals by season end
Now show me ANY club that won the league by conceding 65 that is Chelsea projected GA by season end

Is it because of the likes of Nunez and Goncalo Ramos?

Or because it's an easy league?

Or because he scores soft goals?

Once Agenda is removed from the discussion, it's pretty obvious to see that both side are right from their perspective.

Solution is for the defense and attack to be improved upon.

If you fix the defense and leave Murdyk, Sterling, Jackson and co as your attackers, it will end in tears.

If you buy Mbappe and Halaand and still parade BrodaShile, Disasi and his co followers at the back, na tears go end ham.

It's a pity that some old Chelsea fans couldn't see Chelsea as the big one that should be dominating small fries like Sheffield. They are no different from Pochettino thinking about defending a slim lead against fvckin Sheffield.

What we should have done in 1st half, was what Arsenal and Aston villa did to Sheffield.
