Do you know I don't even know how to use it cause it seems somehow to me. But I now discover, just recently, that some people who are semi-illiterates find it easier to use it. You know spelling is a challenge to some people. My tailors, 2 of them will quickly change to VN whenever we're chatting. Some people don't just like to type, VN is a lazy man's way out.

I might just learn how to use it so I can deal better with the electrician and my laundry woman. Anytime I'm chatting with them, my husband will collect my phone, check and say: "Oyinbo ẹ ti pọju, oya delete this one."

We may not appreciate that technology but those set of people that will, will really be grateful they can have that option. Different strokes for different folks.

In my case, I prefer typing as a form of communication using whatsapp, but I wouldn't begrudge anyone the right to their preferred communication style. Voicenote has its uses, so does typing. I understand there are things that can't be expressed through typing where the effect sought may be watered down. That is where voicenote comes in. Just one of pros for voicenote.

Now, it is not as though WhatsApp did anything bad by introducing voice notes to their app for her users. It is the way the users utilize it. That's why I termed it as 'unsolicited voice notes'.

WhatsApp is an app that enables Calls, Phone app is an app that enables calls.
Both have a feature that serves the same purpose.

Reasons companies don't reach you via WhatsApp calls first is because of "AVAILABILITY" of connectivity. Not everyone keeps their data on all the time and not all area have a stable internet connection.
They explore the best way where there won't be disconnection or unavailability.

Even though my mother can read and write, she has difficulty in typing and her eyesight is not very great. Voice note comes very handy for her to communicate effectively. Dont always rush to condemn things with your nacissistic short sightedness.
