You can't retire from the Police and be a better person. It's either d person is sick, mental or having useless children that will be giving him constant disgrace.

Only those who are lucky even live to retire. I can't recommend NPF to my enemy.

Are you aware that the military and paramilitary most times reject resignations?

That is the reason most personnel go AWOL.

The sad part is that they are very quick to debunk any information against them as lies, see how the lady displays unprofessionalism by calling the information "false" at least she can use their normal tactics " I will get back to you as soon as I investigate".
So u resign by telling someone you are resigning and dropping your uniform or rifle without an official letter of resignation?
What if he did that under duress or under some internal or family issues that will later be tackled.
To show someone is in good mental health and is serious,he should tender an official resignation letter.
The wireless communication is also not a sign that he resigned of his own volition because the boss can as well have sent that communication.
The PRO did her job very well.
Oral or absention from duty or dropping of d
official items are still not accepted means of resignation.
A letter was given when he was employed,a letter too has to be given by him if he is serious or when he is sacked or dismissed from the force

A lot of our officers are depressed and mentally unstable due to the toxic nature of the work and due to the wickedness of the senior officers. Most of the junior officers have been turn into slavery. Some are posted to places without proper working conditions or equipment. Most of them are left to take care of themselves when injected in the cause of their duties. Many families have not received any benefit of their dead relatives. What many of our police men are going through, most of us will not take it.May God Almighty help us in this country.

@PoliceNG force, Ugochukwu Nwaso, attached to Abia State Police Command, went to his station in Umuahia, dropped his rifle, dropped his uniform, and all the things the Nigerian Police gave to him. He packed all his personal belongings in the station and left.

Obviously he was not suffering any mental health issues.

Sufferers of mental health issues are those who draft a Police Commissioner Adamu Mohammed from the far north states of Nigeria to police say Anambra or Rivers state, or send Police Commissioner Okorocha to police Kano state or other far north states in Nigeria.

Restructure Nigeria politically, restructure the Police force.

In her defense, dropping your uniform and arm is not actually resignation. A superior officer might have talked to him. The signal sent didn't say the officer resigned officially.

Nobody forces them to remain in the force. If they are tired of their job, let them get the heck out of the force instead of transferring their frustration onto an innocent unarmed civilians.

The better to drop the riffle and walk away than to use the same riffle to commit suicide or kill an innocent person out of frustration.

A police officer is not entitled to resigned but a civil servant and employee in private sectors can?

People resigned with so many reasons, relocation, depression, change of job, going through family wahala among others

Is police force a life sentence job?

According to the journalist who also claims to be a private investigator hated by all security agencies in Nigeria

Nwaso, a corporal in the force, resigned for yet-to-be-confirmed reasons.

Re: Why Abia Policeman Dropped His Rifle, Walked Away From His Job - PIDOMNIGERIA by Godsonkemz(m): 8:32pm On May 02
The man is overwhelmed by the corruption, extortion and extrajudicial killings and torture by the force and he refused to be part of it.

Imo state police force is worse than abia PS. My barrister colleague visited state CID housing tiger base, anticult and anti kidnapping to process her client's bail. She saw hell. So many of our innocent youths were being picked and locked up. The environment was so unhealthy and unhygienic. Some of them were tortured and shot and their bodies decaying.
She requested to see her client whose wife contracted her for the release of her husband. No information was given regarding his client.
However she insisted on seeing her client. After hesitation, a police officer told her that her client has been killed.
She didn't know how to break it down to the innocent wife who believed her husband is still alive. So she withdrew from the case.
