At the end of the day, the school you went to isn't a very prominent factor in our labour market.The important things are your result, charisma, intelligence, connections and the grace of God.I know OAU is a great school but is this sacrifice of time worth it?

I used to think so too but I've observed some trends in this current decade.I know you love the school, we share the same love for the school but the facts must be faced;gone are the days when companies and firms used to consider what school a person went to.Employment in Nigeria is based mostly on the grace of God and a few supporting factors like result,IQ,and charisma. The bitterness of this truth doesn't make it less true.

i got my admission through jamb and post jamb (even though i don't know what my post jamb score is). The truth is: many of us admitted to study medicine in oau are actually predite, even if we came in through jamb. Thus hiking the cutoff mark (since the post jamb is ours for the taking) for outsiders (normal students) to reach.

because of a wrong combo....neva knew until now that GMP was wrng for Architecture
well I've made a conclusion ... .I'll fill in for UNILAG to study my dream course in the upcoming Jamb

I won't lie to you oh, school is a very determinant factor in the labor market, trust me. For example, I have a relative who was seeking for a job in a federal polytechnic, he did his OND in the fed poly ado ekiti and HND at crown polytechnic. He was offered a job but they cut his salary grade to that of an OND holder. Why? Because they said they don't recognize crown poly. This is a poly accredited by the federal government.
