In terms of medical advances it's an open secret that Indian doctors are some of the best in the world. In fact doctors from India make up a large chunk of doctors in the UK and the US. Indian's technological advances have been somewhat overshadowed by its complex demography; huge disparity between the 'have' and the 'have not'; social issues like the government inability to provide toilets for millions of Indians and some Indians explicable love for urinating in public etc. If Indian can tackle these and more issues besieging it, I'm sure Indian's technological advances would be heralded by the international community.

India is the ICT hub of the world no doubt but when it comes to practical application of their "geniusness", both by the govt and citizens for the advancement of themselves, then thats where they are catching up. Like u correctly noted, India's brains are being used to advance other countries. Yes they have the the brains but when they are being sucked by the west, it shouldnt count as technological advancement for India as a country. Nigeria sef has thousands of scientists and medical practitioners in the US/UK but we are nowhere in terms of technology.
U even gave good reasons why their technological advancement has been stifled for a while now. If they can overcome those obstacles, d sky is their limit. At least they are in d top 20, what of naija? I doubt if we"ll make top 100

My brother, India is 3rd world, that nation is poor but still far better than Nigeria technologically.
