Why is everybody evading this question? Nigerians sha ! The mechanism of computing this aggregate is the underlying yardstick for this thread ,like it or not ,unless u have a Godfather inside. Though I am not seeking admission there this year ,but I believe u guys shud seek an answer to this, so if u're not opportuned to gain admission admission this year u'll know what u're working towards next year. This is not about distinction or first class honours,once d percent ur first degree carries is wrong then u'll know the next options u av to work on,and not just sit own behind computer screen waiting for some abracadabra to happen . Good morning to all in the house .Please, I want to ascertain if the 60% for O'level and 40% for university degree,hnd ,A'level ,Ond for direct entry applicants like it applies to utme applicants(100 level). I thought the O'level issue for grading is different for or does not aply to direct entry applicant. Or is it a different percentage combination.

The O'level is 60%, while your CPGA is 40%
This is how the calculation goes -
A1 - 6points
B2 - 5points
B3 - 4points
C4 - 3points
C5 - 2points
C6 - 1point.
Total - 30 x 2 - 60 points. You'll pick out your five core subjects and calculate it like that.

Your CPGA is over 40
Example 3.95 x 40/5 = 31.2.

So maybe if your O'level is 32/60 which is 32.0 + your CPGA - 31.2 . You'll get 63.2.

1. Jamb 02 and 03 is different from the normal jamb slip, is shows a comprehensive details of you filling your bio-data, your O'level result, your school of choice and some other necessary info to be filled. If you need the sample of the form; send me your email.

2. Yeah a passport must be attached to the undertaking form, at least you have one original and do two photocopies of the original

3. It would advisable to get the office file in UI probably because it has the school name on the file, or probably you can get it outside, as far it is an office file with a tag.

Thanks to obaeko,olaoabiodun and justlikeyou . However , a trend I noticed is similar to that expressed by justlikeyou whereby A'level holders with c4 average in 5 o'level and 2B3 +C5 in the other 3 core subjects are admitted in for medicine (the second had 15 points(3As) and the first 14points(2A +1B) of which I know both of them well, so I believe either they are using a different aggregation computation or they are giving more consideration to A'level holders . I pray those not yet admitted see the favour of God ,amen.

You might be right be your submission, but my good friend that I know very well had 14 points in his Cambridge A level exams, and was admitted to read Petroleum Engineering with weak grades in his O levels subjects, ( some B's and C's). What I know for sure that UI first give consideration to those with A level results. The reason is that they have no other alternative than to further their education, while those with ND or HND or first degree can continue to progress or further their studies or look for job, as they have got a degree.

For those with ND, HND, and first degree, UI will first consider your GPA and the relevance to the course that you applied to read, for example, a HND gradate with degree in Statistics applying to read Computer Science, how good your result might be, you will not be considered. This means the course that you are applying for should be relevant to the degree you have.


Direct entry is a grey area when gaining admission to UI, what they take into consideration is number of 100 level students that will join direct entry students in 200 level, and UI always have certain number of students that should be in 200 level, that is where ND, HND and first degree candidates miss out.

i get that the undertaking forms require passports, what i meant is can i photocopy the passports for the other copies or do i need fresh passports for each copy?

Just photocopy it together. When you staple the passport on the orignal, photocopy it together like that, the photocopy does not require another passport.

1. D first part of JAMB 003(U know it's two leaves)
2. Undertaking form and photocopy(u'll submit both)
3. Original and 4 photocopies of '0' level/'A' level results
4. Original and 4 copies of d UTME result slip
5. Admission Acceptance form and 4 copies
6. Original and 4 copies of the Institution's copy of JAMB admission letter
