I seriously do not like to comment whenever politics is involved, check my profile here, my only active section is nairaland autos...but we need to put the record straight....The paper was silent about where the murder of that innocent man was committed and where those arraigned were arrested.
Anyway, this is what happened that fateful day, I was in Akodo Resort area with my family, then, this man Folami or what did they call his name? the one they called special adviser....came in from Orimedu, where he had had some confrontation with one Bode Oyedele, a PDP chieftain in that area, me i no know wetin happen o, i sha hear say dem kill the guy(Lamidi) for Orimedu, then police came and arrested Tola Kasali, his CSo Tobun, and that other man, several other people were arrested from the APC camp were also arrested at the resort where APC chieftains were having their party SECRET CULT meeting...but majority of them were released that same night, but Dr Kasali was not left off the hook, me for my own mind o, think say na just to dirty him guber ambition race, How would u arrest and prosecute a man for a crime committed kilometers away from where he was... who knows the meaning of alibi?

1. Kudos to the Police for not bringing charges before the court. When shall we out-grow this sad practice where the Police arrests one and tells the Court to give it time to investigate, meanwhile the suspect is languishing in jail. How difficult is it to confirm what murder weapon(s) were used; establish the cause of death; obtain evidence as to the actual place of the murder, etc.

2. Congratulations to the Counsel from the AGF's office that has caused a disruption, since in their judgement the Police cannot handle the prosecution.

3. What a fine Judge we have for granting bail based on 'self-recognition', in order words he has made himself a 'surety'. (Does it not tell us how the case will eventually end, since the Judge has already become an acquaintance of the suspects?).

I perceive that when the case is finally brought before the judge for hearing, the office of the AGF would withdraw the case, then we never know for a fact the circumstances of the death of the victim. Until we learn to do things rightly (without fear or favour), and follow standard procedures, we would keep having cases like this, many more muddled cases are yet to come.
