Taraba is sitting on a Time Bomb! A Drive around the state would tell you its a State divided along Religious lines! The Pro-Suntai Group made up of mainly christians(jukuns, mumuyes etc) would do anything to have UTC(the current Gov.) out at any cost! Incisive Billboards litter the Streets of Jalingo!
Removing UTC may sound good to them, but replacing him with another Muslim as Governor may still not heal the wounds because they see Hausas as settlers!
T.Y Danjuma is further complicating their woes by supporting a Christian Guy that is unpopular to the masses!

Its a good move by the Supreme Court though! UTC was indicted in the Jos riots sometime ago (according to Locals) and they just don't like him here! A reduction in tension is what this Judgement has achieved!

I heard ty Danjuma already endorsed former Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Darius Ishaku for 2015.

HE is the kingmaker and undisputed OBA of Taraba state since he believed the state was created for him. He nominated Ishaku in the first place.

On whose authority is this?
Wait until he goes to court again.

pendicle:

Yes Election will hold. He will serve out the term he and Suntai should have served.

The scenario was same as that of Yar-Adua and JonaTAN. By right Danladi should have been the acting governor or governor but because TY danjuma's group are adamant no muslim will rule the state, they are doing all they are doing with the support of the presidency.

This actually cut off the likes of TY danjuma and Suntai who feel they can hold the state to ransom. Suntai has finally lost in his bid to reclaim the Government House in Taraba.

Good development for the entrenchment of democracy in Nigeria.

Tears and shame on TY Danjuma and his belief the state is his personal estate.

Don't celebrate yet! TY Danjuma and clique are the once behind the sacking of UTC if u don't knw. He knows that Sanni Danladi will not be able to gather enough momentum b4 February 14, 2015 to say he want to contest the governtorial election and therefore He TY & CO will smuggle their prefer candidate to bcom the governor of that state.

On constitution's authority. @pendicle is right. Note that Danladi did not originally go to court to be made acting governor but to be reinstated to his deputy governor position. It was the accident that happened to suntai that brought up the issue of acting governor otherwise he would have just returned as deputy to suntai. Suntai still remained the governor till may 2015.

The constitution is clear on this. He became Deputy on a joint ticket with Danbaba Suntai. He is being reinstated based on that fact that he was the de facto deputy before the kangaroo impeachment.

Their tenure ends on the 29TH May, 2009, if he wants to go beyond that, he will seek reelection in February

PDP states always in one trouble or the order. They took ekiti few weeks ago and the state is already upside down

Danbaba Suntai's Camp is probably behind this.
and the APC states(Edo, Rivers, Ogun) are as peaceful as Switzerland abi

This judgement is neither here nor there. Umar garba the removed acting governor wants to be named the substantive governor siting the medical status of Danbaba Suntai which made the danjuma group uncomfortable with him and felt threatened by his moves.

This judgement is like an arbitration panel being set up by the Supreme Court to settle the dispute between all parties. No parties gained, no parties won.

So Danladi sanni is like a neutral entity in the battle for the soul of the state. Whether he has the political clout to snatch the structures of the states is another thing, lets wait and see.

Which int'l law against which coup? Is only the USA and may be UK that may make noise on that and as usual threaten with sanctions which is their only weapon. Morsi was overthrown 2yrs ago, nothing happened and Thai govt was sacked earlier this yr and nothing happened. So, I don't see any reason the clueless one can't be booted out. I prefer a popular uprising as just happened in Burkino Faso to a military coup.

Do not be too cozy, yet. Tarry a little while and see what will transpire.
