Its a personal decision to make. I took a decision recently and would work with that until something else comes on. If I have an option of being involved in an online philanthropy and doing a community service aka helping those around, I would take online philanthropy.

I will share an event that happened to me recently. I was sent on an errand to the hospital, in the course of running the errand, I met someone who needed what I could help with. I cleaned her bill by the grace of God. I walked away very happy believing God was waiting for me at the junction to bless me with the Bentley I have been eyeing. On monday, which should be roughly one month after I did what I did, I got a call from the office that some people were looking for me and insisted they must be attended to by me. That was scary until I was told they were elderly. (A couple, or looked like one). I still refused to see them but delegated another staff to attend to them. I got to the office on tuesday to see two biiiiiiiig heads of banana and a 4L gallon of redoil. The name doesn't ring a bell neither will I see them on the road and recognise them, but because they found out a way to reach me, they came to appreciate the gesture. This is what I DO NOT want! I don't want people blowing trumpets, or singing my tale. I prefer the philanthropy displayed here where noone can get through to me to try to show appreciation. If online philanthropy is discontinued, I would of all men be miserable. I find it hard helping out offline without it being linked back to me and I don't want that.

Very interesting tale

I feel you but hope you know online ish needs a framework to be effective

Yes I know and that's what the starters of this thread and the donors are doing in this small way- giving criteria for their help. In a more organised form, using NL as an example, TeHN fills in on that.

Exactly the kind of response I was expecting from the supporter club.

@Aisha2, apologies for being the devils advocate on your thread.

@others,

Enjoy your weekend.

I don't think there is a supporter club here

You have not responded to the last post I made

Playing devils advocate is about ensuring there is balance

You highlighted the use of the admin and super mod but in the absence of that what alternative is there?

And I'm sure you are aware of the issues around Tehn

How can you be so sure? tongue

Anyway, point is, I prefer online charity to offline. I'd rather help someone from this community than the one I see around. Its a personal decision and nobody should get angry when I decide to act on it.

Dear Aisha,
I have been thinking if this cause' closing date could be extended because I believe there are people like me that would like to put in as little as N1,000 or N500. This will also raise the prize up.
would it be possible the date could be extended? am sure people are still coming to support this cause financially.

God bless you Aisha .I wanted to refer someone but when I saw the initial requirement of essay writing,I decided to chill.Didn't know it has been removed. My young friend is a teenage single Mum,she has been out of school and lives in an uncompleted building in my vicinity with her mum.I don't if she has any picture during pregnancy though. Don't know if she qualifies and if its not too late?

We are waiting for the other two to respond

The post had been modified. It was posted based on the experience of a friend in North. I support helping hand in all form but always curious to know if it is having any attachment.
Thank you. 3D slap is bad. I reject it.

Let her or whoever do whatever rocks their boat. I erred by getting muddled up in this laudable project. Ciao

Please those of us castigating rman should take try and understand his perspective. pickabeau1 thanks for replying him maturedly, even to me I think it is odd that u want a single mother to write essay. But then its their (donors) money and they call the shots. Christian charity clearly exholts anonymous charity and that is what he is suggesting,

There is a possibility that this may turn out of hand when the fraudsters start to capitalise on it.

BTW what happened to TEHN?

This is great but picture of when pregnant? Most single men were never really never happy during the pregnancy period I doubt if they had the opportunity to take pictures except included widow and divorcee and Single mum by intent..on the whole a good gesture..my thoughts

Open one for widows, Wetin do your hands , who are you to tell Op the kind of charity she should be involved in?

It's people like you that will chase out pregnant teens while dumping their kids in the gutter because you soooo much cherish your marriage tales than life involved.

I am Nobody, a peasant and what even gave me the temerity to criticise the philanthropic gesture of the Empress; Aisha2?

I am a Christian and I preach morality so with the right attitude, my female kids, sisters and folks alike will be guided on the morality of closing their legs until marriage and with this measure it succinctly defeat your illogical 2nd paragraph
