Sad but in a country where over 78% of the total population live below the poverty line what else do you expect?

The painful part is in the midst of all the suffering you encounter mansions resembling prisons built by the elite to seal themselves off from daily realities. Let me stop here before I enter an "oh naija" rant.
shocked shocked :oLike seriously? where did you get this info? you mean about 8 out of every ten Nigerians live below the poverty line?

It's not seen in Lagos alone,it can be seen all over the country. The level of poverty here is mind-blowing. And the people keep breeding like rats!

I always say and I'll continue to say it, if don't have plenty money, get out of Lagos!
that place is, to the poor, a junkie shocked
u need to see the way some people live in that place when they'd simply be making it in their States, home towns or villages. i spent 10yrs in Lagos, and being an introvert i found my new place so comforting ,the only reason for me to go back to that Lagos is a 6-figure pay job.

The sight of men, women and even young children risking their lives in various kinds of transportation makes one cringe.

You see people hanging on to movie vehicles, hanging on the roof of moving train, trying to hop into a moving bus and many other dangerous moves which could send one’s heart into one’s mouth.

This kind of sight can only scare someone who is witnessing it for the first time as most Lagosians are used to it.

When you witness such scenes, it brings different questions to mind like, why would anyone want to die a cheap death?

You better believe it! The poverty guideline is based on living on less than $2 a day, that is about $300 to $400 naira a day. We have about 170 million people in Nigeria, a workforce of about 20 million, which leaves room for most of the population to be dependents. Poverty is real, back when I was in school I lived on less than 200 naira a day so it is very possible!
