That's why its a democracy.

If the majority chooses to be blind to your "prophetic" warnings, you can only fold your arms in exasperation.

But majority of 170m people can't be wrong.

Can they?

Yes, majority can't be wrong in rejecting Buhari on three occasions. They will do it again in 2015. It is only foreigners like you that won't get the message.

It's not a matter of luck. You don't wish someone good luck in a venture you know he will easily accomplish, especially if he has majority support.

Then don't vote.

Stay home and wait for your victory since its so assured...

Jonathan has done a lot of good but there will always be bad things in any govt and we all know that it is easy to destroy than to build, it is even easier to remember bad things about a govt than to remember the good things.

Let me ask, what did Obasanjo do that affected the lives of Nigerians that we can point to in 8yrs? GSM

I agree that no Hausa person will put down his brother like we are doing to GEJ even if he is the most corrupt person on earth, atleast the backlash will not be as it is against GEJ.

My take is nobody can change anything in Nigeria if the structure is left as it is. Buhari cannot do natin. Even GEJ can only do so much.

My solution:

We need to go back to regional govt.
Every region should develope whatever they have comparative advantage of. Yes agric exploited in the nort can give as much revenue to its region.
Pay a % tax to the fed govt and keep the rest as would be agreed by all regions.
Regions bring their own reps to the national assembly and every region will be responsible for their upkeep. Whatever the SW is paying its NA memebers will not be the business of the SS or NW or MB.
The responsibilities of the fed govt will be limited to some responsibities like Foreign Affairs, with regions having representatives.
Boundry commission determined by FG.
Regional police etc

There are just a few things the Fg would be responsible for? Things like edu, agric, health, science & tech, tourism drive etc will be left to the regions.

Now I am sure that if someone proposes this, we all know those that would refuse, yet they want power.

Its a shame!

Thank you op because jonathan is from the south the north wants to forcefully get him out of the sit for there born to rule region and the despicable part is that we are pushing one of our own to the slaughter slab. I was born and bred in the north and I laugh at the south naïveté we would continue taking one step forward and 7 step back unless we stand united a tell the core north to step aside and allow the south develop Nigeria and it structure before we hand over.

For now Yes GEJ Yes till 2019

You just want to have the last word, don't you?

A word of advice -

Learn to maintain an open mind to divergent views. It just might save you from not a few tight spots.

As for the northerners who you so disdain, needless to say many of them feel the same way about you.

Set aside ancient history and embrace the new day.

That's the only way to move forward.

And by the way,
It's not about our leaders,
It's about the people and how we relate with one another.

Hating will get us nowhere...

THE HAUSA MUSLIMS WILL CONTINUE TO DRAG NIGERIA
BACKWARD!!!! By Shittu Bosun
The north is the origin of our under-development in Nigeria, and no Hausa [Muslim] man deserve our votes from the South for now!

1. Almost six years after we elected a CHRISTIAN, NON-NORTHERN AND NON-HAUSA FULANI, why is he such a COLOSSAL FAILURE that even many of those who ACTUALLY VOTED for him in 2011 are today so disillusioned and disappointed with his performance that they regret ever voting for him?.

2. Why do millions of young men and women who overwhelmingly supported him in 2011 now see him as having simply squandered their massive goodwill for him and effectively dashed their hopes for a better Nigeria?.

3. Why is he, as a Christian, SO MUCH AT EASE in his open romance with the WORST of the most corrupt elements who destroy the future of our younger generation through their frenzied looting?

4. Why is this Christian president is so lacking in MORAL COURAGE, and so self-centred, that instead of reclaiming our country from the ruthlessly corrupt elite, he has even unzipped the country and sadistically handed it over to the heartless cabal to molest her more, in return for helping him win re-election?

5. Why is this Christian president doesn't give a damn as hundreds of NIGERIANS, Muslims and Christians, are being massacred daily in the NE and Middle Belt, yet we always see his display SO MUCH PASSION, COMMITMENT, FOCUS, SERIOUSNESS AND SENSE OF URGENCY when it comes to anything that has to do with his self-centred election bid?

6. We know that since the clueless has so woefully failed to live up to the expectations of Nigerians and, as such, has no records of performance to hinge his re-election bid on, the only thing he and his goons (like this Shit-tu and the OP) would be hoping to use is the kind of sharp religious and ethn̥̥o-reɡional divisions that characterized the 2011 election, from which the clueless immensely benefited.

7. But unfortunately for them, even in the SS/SE this time around there will NOT be as much voting on religious sentiments as in 2011, simply because NIGERIANS are WISER today; we can all see clearly that the greatest beneficiaries of the six years of this government of a Christian, non-Hausa Fulani Southerner are the corrupt super-rich elite, who are pardoned and invited to loot even more, in return for their support for the re-election of the clueless!.
