That is an extremely stupid reason to be rioting but Nigerians too would throw shades like they aren't guilty of this.. Same people on some bullshvt that governors must be decendants of a particular state from like 2000 years ago even if he's been there for a good number of years and heavily invested in the state. Blacks be so fvcked up.

What will Americans now do having a son of a kenyan rule over them for 2 terms.

which appeared to imply that Obama was ''kenyan'' or at the very least, that Obama's situation might be similar to the Gabonese situation(which simply put....states that your birth parents must both be Gabonese...a similar law exists in Ivory Coast....which is what led to the whole ''Ivorité'' nonsense that was used to exclude their (now president) Alassane Ouattara from the leadership in the 1990's.)

There are just some unclear issues.

1. What are the names of his parents?

2. Where are his parents from in Nigeria?

3. Is there an English translation of the birth certificate?

So far, I think they have no point. If he has a 'birth certificate' written in French, doesn't that make him a citizen of a 'francophone' country by birth?

Even as I do not understand 'french' inscriptions, the names (proper nouns) written in that certificate are either French (e.g. Dominique) or strange (e.g. Kama, Ndanlangu or so), not English or Nigerian.

Besides, Brazzaville is clearly written on it, which I think is the capital of Congo.

These people are just tagging Nigeria for naught other than selfish purposes. angryangryangry
They said he was adopted from hsi parents by the former President from Biafra during the civil war.

Na today? Its well-known fact that bongo didn't give birth to any child except the "adopted" Biafran boy who is the current president.

They shud take heart, they can never become our colonial territory, because our current leader is too weak that he can't even battle BOKO HARAM let's alone ruling another country by-proxy.

One can't just help but weep at the traditional African mentality where all we Africans see is just tribe and religion.

Thanks for the clarification.
So, the birth certificate says that then? Do you understand what it says exactly?

God owns the lands, all people are laborers. The man had started enjoying the fruits of his labour when the enemies came up from nowhere and made attempt to stop him. They wanted to give him bramble instead of apple.

So, what were the electorate doing when he submitted his nomination bid ?? If they have passed a vote of confidence in him to rule why beat a dead mule.

Is President Ali Bongo of Gabon the “Igbo” President? By Jibrin Ibrahim

The French essayist, Pierre Péan is a specialist on Gabon who wrote a book on the French connection and corruption in the country in 1983 called “African Affairs”. His most recent book called “New African Affairs”, which has just been published, contains serious allegations about the Nigerian origins of the Gabonese President, Ali Bongo. He claims that Ali Bongo, previously known as Alain Bongo, was brought from Biafra during the Nigerian civil war and adopted by former President Omar Bongo. It would be recalled that the late Gabonese President Omar Bongo, previously known as Albert-Bernard Bongo. before his conversion to Islam, strongly supported Biafra during the Nigerian civil war. Bongo organised the airlift of numerous children from Biafra during the Nigerian civil war and subsequently gave them out for adoption. Ali Bongo is said to be the one he personally adopted. Gabon, as is generally known has a fertility problem with relatively low birth rate so adoption was a practice that had wide support.

The origin of Ali Bongo has become a major political issue because the Constitution of Gabon is clear that no one born to foreign parents can be president. The Gabonese opposition has therefore picked on the revelations in the book to demand for a DNA test to prove that Ali Bongo is a true son of his purported mother and previous First Lady, Patience Dabany. He has refused to take the test claiming his Gabonese origin is not in doubt. Meanwhile, the police have stopped planned demonstrations by the opposition parties for 13th November and Ali Bongo has sued Pierre Péan for defamation.

One of the key factors fuelling the controversy is that the birth certificate Ali Bongo presented as part of his documentation as presidential candidate in 2009 claims he was born in Brazzaville and named Ali Bongo at birth. Everybody however knows that he was called Alain in his younger days so the birth certificate is obviously fake. Pierre Péan also claims that the 2009 presidential elections were rigged and that the winner of the election was the opposition leader Andre Mba Obame who was denied victory because of his Fang ethnic origin. He also alleges that Ali Bongo was also strongly supported by the French President at the time, Nicolas Sarkozy, who depended on the Gabonese President to finance his re-election campaign with millions of Euros. Nicolas Sarkozy is himself facing numerous investigations by the French judiciary about the allegedly illegal sources of his campaign funds.

Truth be said, we are very backward in Africa. If you ask an average gabonese he also wants to be another Barrack Obama but he does not want a foreigner to rule over him.

How are we sure that the Northern leaders rulling us from 1960 aren't from Chad, Niger or neighbouring countries?

Tafawa Balewa was born in Tafawa Balewa village in Bauchi....and his parents were not migrants...

Yakubu Gowon was born in Zaria to parents who migrated from Plateau state.

Murtala Muhammed was a Kano man through and through.

Shehu Shagari is proudly Sokoto....

Buhari is from Daura....and no...his parents did not migrate from outside Nigeria.(Daura is rather close to the border BTW.....but no funny ideas mind!)

IBB is from Niger State

Abacha has been accused of being Chad....but as far as we know...he is from a family in Kano that were originally Kanuri migrants from what is now Borno State.

Abubakar is from Niger State....not a migrant.

Yaraduá was from Katsina....and that is certain(family too prominent....so no migrant).

And even if we did doubt their origin...once you serve in the Nigerian Army...you are as good as a citizen.

(Mind you....am not a fan of many of the above leaders....especially IBB.)
