My brother, Iphone, Blackberry, Apple is Manufactured by Terry Gou a Chinco.
His company is located in Asia!!

The whites wants we Africa to have the kind of believe you have.
But the reality is, Africans have been clothing themselves before they start there exploration to discovere our continent.

Do you know Aso Oke which my lovely Igbo people call Akwete?
That is one out of several invention of Africans before the white start popnosing in our Affairs here in Africa.
Now Nigeria is more importance to the Imperia powers because it is Highly strategic and Full Of Excess Human and Naturall Resources.
For your information, Nigeria is the Only Country in the World that have all Known Naturall Resources!!!!!
Infact, africa houses more than 50% of the World known Natural resources.
So the whites sees this as a Great treat for a country like Nigeria to bin that region. Hence the need for structural Brainwashing and Pollitical Destabilisation which they are pumping on us.

But God give you and I Freewill which enables us to think and choose according to our desires.
This freewill can't bé attacked.
So it is time we start embracing oneanother in Africa to help each other get rid of all this bad elementss the whites hhave plaque Africans with.
This is exactly what China did and are still doing today.
Nigerians can do this do.
Infact other Africans consciously and sub consciously still see us as Hope Of Africa.
We need to take the Bull by the Horn and shum those Imperial Powers Philosophies.
Made in Nigeria products is what we take us there. Start using it.
We are ourselves the Solution to our problems.
Shun pride.
Bé humble, patient and Honest.
Sure one day Naira will bé #1 to £2 not dollars.

Embrase Innosons Cars to boost our Economy.
Bé proud to bé a Nigerian with positive actionss that foster National Developments.

I love my country.
Green White Green for life!

Wicked government! Trying to deprive the masses who can't afford luxury the little they can afford. I wish they can all die.

And you sure must be among the lots clamouring "BUHARI FOR CHANGE 2015, SAI BUHARI, etc" yet you talk about luxury. Go ask your parents about how much luxury they enjoyed during the Buhari regime back then. Austerity was at its peak and the order of the day then; wages slashed and several luxuries prohibited. Today, some people look back to then and come out to say that regime was the best, this and that. I keep wondering how people clamour for change yet remain so blind and daft to notice one when it surfaces. Nobody keeps doing the same thing and expects a different result. Even if Buhari should emerge as the No 1 citizen come Feb 14, he definitely will effect new policies (of which austerity will sure be paramount like in his previous regime), if he is to usher in any slightest kind of change.
Nigerians really need to be open minded to constructively critique and avoid being blinded by sentiments, nepotism and some form of useless bigotry.

99% of Nigerians buying used cars do not know the owner, history or even the country the were used in.
When it comes to Nigerian made used car it is even better, because you can get to buy it directly from the original owner, so what are you talking about?
The power sector is a work in progress, things are going on simultaneously.

It is we the citizen that suffer the effect, why cant the government give the companies manufacturing inside some wavier to make their cars cheaper, rather they want to make more money. Also 70 percent is outrageous. hw much does the government knw dey sell new car? you cant get a new car less than 2.5m. how many people can afford 2.5m for a car when a gud tokunbo can go as low as 1m embarassed

Even okonjo, aganga and GEJ do not use these so called locally manufactured cars.

All these people bringing all these harsh polices dey didn't witness during their time, it God dat will judge them.

oga be informed! IVM cars cost atleast 1m -1.5m, and some are also 2m. why don't you want our economy to grow? how do you think China became the largest economy in the world?

He increased the price of fuel by an unprecedented margin ever...the pple he represents occupied the street, and they deceived us the money will be used for infracstructural development. After 6 years. Where is the development? Are the hospitals better or the workers are striking continuously? Are the schools better or the lecturers in all institutions are striking? Why has lagos-Ibadan not been completed in 6 years? Why are the rates of trains dt he finally did in lieu of election so expensive? My teacher told me trains are the cheapest source of transportation!

He has increased the price of car importation to 70%. Means if you buy a car of 1m, you pay extra 700,000 thousand. Why? What is the hope for the ordinary Nigerian huzzling to buy a used car. This locally produced cars...are they affordable - No.This also has a multiplying effect on the economy...cos all cars become expensive. The local industry you claim you want to encourage...are they ready to serve us? Why can't you buy the local cars and use them in your fleet of cars. Leadership by example!

Also in his time. because of the govt. cannot manage the economy, he has increased the dollar, and once again broke the record. How did Sanusi control it. What about your guy there. Is he doing the right thing? Dollar increase has led to virtually everything becoming expensive. A poor man cannot shop online again. Our reserves are empty. Where is the money? What has it been used for?

The why's are plenty...but the last is why should I vote for you when all your policies are killing me the ordinary citizen on the street. Don't you think I will commit sucide if you stay till 2019?

Im in support of the policy but its too heavy.. it should slip in gradually! 70 percent is crazy!

redcliff, the 70 percent wasn't effected all at once. The OP stated it started with 35 percent around february 2014 before the govt decided to increase it further by another 35 percent come the new year. So it's not as if the whole 70 percent came in at a go. Infact, until it becomes effected (if finally it will) come Jan 1, 2015, the import duty on tukumbo cars still remains 35 percent.

The power sector is a work in progress, things are going on simultaneously.

Nigerians buying tokunbo cars need not know the owners for the following reasons

1. The roads are extremely good.. you are sure that the underneath of the car did not hit the floor not even once in its lets say 12years of existence.

2. The govt has well regulated the technical maintenance of your car in such a way that you are highly obligated to according to your manufacturer's/ environmental specification always ensure that your car is regularly serviced at the specified time with specified manufacturer's parts.

3. The govt of any sane country has emission standards, technical standards, usability standards.. you cannot fail to default in these areas otherwise youl dance to the music.

4. With the VIN or chasis number the history of the vehicle is recorded..

Quick question, what kills a car in nigeria and which of these mentioned four points i clearly gave we have/practice to lets say 20%?

What is the use of all these when most people do not even know the actual countries the used cars are imported from?
The fact remains that importation of used cars will be minimzed and manufacturing of cars in Nigeria will be maximized, prizes of Nigeria made cars will reduce with time and those who still cannot afford it will have Nigeria made used cars to buy.
It is as simple as that.

Have you used a new car? Try it and see that you will curse tokunbo cars. With new cars, there's no mechanic wahala for at least the first five years except for change of oil and the likes. There so many brands to choose from. Some cost as low as a million, 1.5, 2million etc...But with 700,000 tokunbo car you must visit mechanic before usage and at least every 6months. So what's the economic sense in using tokunbo

Precisely. We cannot make cheap cars until we can source 50% or more of the raw goods needed for cars locally. Our Steel industry must be revived and we need Quality Control experts to set up testing facilities here. Also, let our govt put their money where their mouths are and USE MADE-IN-NIGERIA cars as their official vehicles, as vehicles of almost all parastatals. The only Innoson vehicles I've seen in Lagos were buses travelling to/fro the East, yet the man has been producing for over 2 years. FG should have patronised him and used banks to offer excellent loans to Nigerians to buy Made-In-Naija.

well, this is just d only strategy that can make d auto policy to work. What's d amount of minimum wage in d country? I believe dat no one is completely satisfied he's patronising second hand products, but if the means ain't dere I bet ure helpless. If truly Jonathan really want to developed d automotive industries then its simple encourage ur citizens through availability of car loan strictly based on acquisition of cars from dis local manufacturer. Same goes for other items n even this will make tokunbo prices to reduce drastically coz I know everyone will prefer new to used ones
