Many of you people are quite silly particularly in the manner you try to justify voting for GEJ. Just imagine comparing a millitary, authoritarian rule with a democratic regime. I'm afraid that the train has left you people behind! We are in a new dispensation which requires you to explain the achievements of GEJ under this dispensation. Its too late to hide under 30yr old millitary governments. As far as your man goes, all I have to say is: Good SAI BUHARI 1 Like |

jorlons: Life situations always appear like a coin: they always got two faces. Buhari's tyrannical reign definitely favored some people. Fro example, those who were on salaries, who were buying a tin of milk at N1.00 suddenly began to buy it at N0.50 would love the regime. Problem was, the milk they bought at N0.50 was bought at N0.90 at whole sale. While the retailers where being brutalized and jailed, with their shops auctioned, the public queuing up to buy were hailing Buhari. Forcing down price with gun is a hallmark of tyranny and illiteracy! Normally, you should believe your dad. |

Kenai:The stewpidness in you is growing by the day, If GEJ want to jail corrupt people and looters not by using force, first is to give EFCC the power to arrest and investigate someone who they suspect, And if that person is guilty will be charged to court will give power to the judiciary to pass normal judgement... When your pay master say stealing is not corruption don't you know he is indirectly send signal to EFCC and the judiciary not to tamper with the big looters? 1 Like |

Buhari and APC in general are economically deficient as far as Sound Economic Policies are concerned. They actually are Socialist who believe in Big Government (More Recurrent Expenditure) and State Interventions (Economic Centralism) in state runned market economy. There's no room for Free Market in this kind of arrangement. No Investor anywhere in the world will invest in an economy where market prices are regulated and manipulated by the government. This is the exact type of socialist policy that lead to the collapse of the Soviet Union and her economy in 1989. No country, repeat no country in this world can develope Economically with this kind of Socialist Mentally. Seriously, APC has nothing to offer. |

Kenai: Op u have just displayed your illiteracy of governance in terms of military decree and civilian rule of law. This is democracy. He did not forced it on traders. He only forced retailers to bring down their price who hoarded goods after the coup. Imagine, you bought 1000 tins of Milo at #5 per tin this week, then there was a coup the following week. You the retailer now kept your hidden goods only to come out to start selling at #30... 2 Likes |

Kenai: I was a baby during Buhari's initial shot at leading Nigeria. A one-sided story is never a balanced story, you can ask Chiamanda, she knows a lot about dangers of a single story. Most stories I heard about Buhari's were of brutality, war against indiscipline and partial justice. I haver being against Buhari because of his military background, the northern olicargy desparation for power, his sharia inclination; however, I must say that I'm better informed about Buhari now. Buhari as MR HONESTY didn't start today; also, having recognised another honest individual in Late Prof. Mrs Dora Akunyili while working together in PTF, I believe he does encourage good governance. I salute this man, he is a man of integrity. Secondly, I think we are experiencing a déjà vu in this country; democracy breeds corruption especially when the different arms of government and law enforcement agencies are not independent and not properly enhanced/enabled to do their jobs, democracy breeds corruption when we allow corrupt minds to rule this country. Oil, our most priced asset in this economy fell by nearly 60% when Buhari took the mantle of government, but his leadership style failed because of his military methods. The questions arising now are: how will Buhari lead without the use of brute force, how will Buhari lead with people like Tinubu by his side, who will be the technocrats in his administration? This not just a second shot for Buhari to lead Nigeria, it is a second shot for Nigerians to do things the positive way; we need to elect credible people for councilors, chairmen, representatives, congressmen, governors, senators, president into power. We need to encourage judicial equity and support law enforcement officers. Anyone that wins the presidential election Buhari or Jonathan, neither of them will be able to move the country forward with the support of Nigerians in a positive way. 1 Like |

barcanista:And you think you can achieve all this with the help of the whip and lashes? Bro, we aren't in the 20th century and this democracy where capitalism holds sway and it is very clear that your Buhari cannot make any of the changes he is mouthing and deceiving gullible Nigerians . The era of flogging people to conform to laws and order is gone ,now you make laws in such a manner that it would be almost impossible to break them and when you break them you are well assured that you'd be caught and punished . This is how you run a country and not the usual soldier and police intimidation that tramples on the right of innocent citizens. We need strong institutions and not strong men that play gods with our lives. |

Lollzzz.. You'll see how that can be effective when fighting against curropption in the currupt country.. Buhari cannot rule with the same system but rather with his word "Good governanace is when people are happy in their home" please kindly take a look at that news paper itself? Nd the date.. The attempt is never a selfish one, thou! He may lack the knowledge then but now he's sorrounded with intellegency, why are all these coming out now? Why is it that only the elderly that witnessed his govenrnance then love him most? Even in term of his vice (Idi-agbon) where are those looters then please? Hmmm.. No matter what nd what you may bring, we cannot vote JONAH again! That's just the fact.. |

noblezone:I get ur standpoint plus I'm not saying Buhari's regime got it all right; what I'm saying is that we should have right the wrongs made by past regimes in terms of economic growth. I get that you are angry @ d economic approach they took buh in relative comparison to Jonathan's administration wouldn't you agree with me that the same foul, business owners cried during Buhari's regime is what consumers or buyers are crying in GEJ's admin. it's so bad that businesses can fix prices on their goods and increase it at will without being checked. Question: is the present Nigerian economy favourable to all (both business owners and consumers) I don't even want to discuss security as it is visibly clear the administration that did berra. WAI and fight against corruption was also a success for the time it lasted. Sanitation wasn't joked with buh now the country is like a cesspit. Do you know that the minister for state works Dayo warever said on channels tv Politics that 'Buhari's regime was the worst regime ever.' Is there any truth in that? At the end of the day you have made your decision and I've made mine and we both will be responsible for our decisions directly or indirectly. Have a lovely day ahead Sir. |

That GMB is economically sound or not, basically I think he has no moral right to enjoy democracy as a platform to lead having once toppled a democratically elected government and stating that he doesnt believe in democracy but then things haven't been awesome under GEJ at all! Impunity and corruption everywhere! Slow pace of development, Security lapses everywhere. Either way, I think none of them is good enough! Will continue to watch to see whether finally one of either you "GMBians" or "GEJites" will convince me and confuse me less before 14th. |

GarnewRed:Thanks for the compliment, Beside this article will go so many Nigerians insight on how GMB care more for them, Why will some traders be taking advantage of the masses with the aim of selling at higher price with the aim of getting more profit. |
Re: Photo Of 1983 Newspaper On How Buhari 'diversified' Economy With Soldiers by Nobody: 10:30am On Jan 19, 2015 |
noblezone:With due respect Mr Noblezone, nobody said people should sell at loss, the amiable General only ennsured that people sell at a reasonable price and not take advantage of scarce to make exhorbitant profit at the expense of the masses. Defaulters will have their goods sold even at a minimal price. We know that greedy traders won't like the policy but consumers would. Today in our economy we see how traders play to the intelligence of consumers. Bus drivers hiked their fares unnecessarily, same with sellers of other commodities. We aren't a capitalist state, there is no social benefit to fall back onn yet, traders should trade without greed. Nuff said 1 Like |
